In November of this year, PKP Intercity served an awesome number of 5.4 million passengers. This is only part of the full number of travellers, which since January has reached as many as 62 million people who have benefited from the services of this national carrier. The national carrier, PKP Intercity, confirms on its website that despite the cancellation of an outbreak threat, a relief of 33% (with respect to one-off tickets in Class 1 and 2 TLK and IC trains and 2 EIC and EIP trains) remains valid until 30 December 2023.

In practice, this means that those wishing to benefit from the relief must be able to confirm their position as an honorary blood donor, most likely through peculiar certificates or papers issued by the competent blood donation institutions. How to prove the right to a discount for honorary blood donors?

It is crucial to have a peculiar certificate to be issued by 30 June of this year at the latest. The allowance shall be valid for six months from the date of issue of that certificate. This paper shall contain detailed information, specified as the name of the blood donor, the PESEL number and confirmation of the donation of 3 donations of blood or its components, including plasma after COVID-19 disease.

Such a certificate may be issued by various institutions, specified as the regional blood and blood centre, the Military Blood and Blood Center, or the Blood and Blood Center, which were set up by the Minister for Home Affairs (MSWIA).

• Children up to 4 years old.
• Officers of the Border Guard, Police and Customs and taxation Service and soldiers of the Military Gendarmerie while performing certain duties.

1. 95% discount for maintainer/guide incapable to be or blind.
2. 78% discount for:

• Disabled children and young people.
• Students up to 26 years old to travel from their place of residence or stay to educational facilities – from kindergarten to college.

1. 51% discount for:

• Students until they were 26.
• Doctors till they were 35.

1. 30% discount for people with 60 years of age to travel in national transport by all categories in 1st and 2nd grade.
