Piskorski: PR – this must be done

Of course, the following words are inspired by the embarrassing behaviour of the Polish authorities during the alleged drone crisis. We call it a crisis, due to the fact that so far it is not known what happened, apart from the fact that the undetermined number of drones appeared in the Polish sky, and then – without causing major harm – settled on our meadows and fields.

In specified situations, in addition to the safety procedures for which the services specialised in this field are responsible, an emergency information policy procedure is usually launched. Public relations experts say that having specified centres controlling the flow of information and agreeing messages sent outside is an component of all office and its press office, and at the level of commercial entities a request placed before the PR department. The crisis can happen at any time, so consequence procedures must be developed in advance and contain rather detailed competence instructions for the individual authorities and individuals. This seems obvious; there are tons of guides, textbooks and a set of recommendations that apply to all medium-sized company.

Of course, the state company is not (although any neoliberals may seem so); it is simply a much more serious entity that we require to make and apply full professional activities in all possible circumstances. That's what it's for, and for that we pay him out of our own pockets. Meanwhile, it turns out that the Polish authorities do not have any model of information consequence to a tiny even crisis situation.

The incidental with the appearance of drones in our airspace was neither different nor of the size of a galactic catastrophe. For over 3 and a half years we have been neighbouring (on the margin – to any degree on our own request, due to the fact that our political class has consistently promoted NATO's expansion to Ukraine, although Russia's reaction to specified a decision was not only easy to predict, but even publically announced for respective years by the mouth of its highest authorities) with a country subject to large-scale warfare. We have known for a long time that drones and automation are starting to play an increasingly crucial function in the modern war; in fact, we are dealing with a technological breakthrough in the military sphere, which may in the future be included in a series of events of an epochal importance for military activity. Knowing this, we realize – especially after the tragedy in Lublin The cables caused by Ukrainian rocket in 2022 – that the appearance of stray (or not entirely random) drones or rockets over Poland is something completely predictable. These are the effects of the war in the neighbourhood, and in order to destruct them, specified a war must simply end, or at least effort to support peace initiatives.

The Polish government, realizing all this, seemingly had no strategy and procedure to respond to specified a very probable event. In fact, he had this strategy as simple as a cep, and it came down to a primitive “all guilty Russia”, surrounded by a loud cry that a drone in a corn field was an act of war and aggression. The deficiency of any coordinated communication strategy resulted in a complete failure of the government, the president, the National safety Bureau. Apparently, the politicians of the ruling coalition besides took over the profiles of the Operations Command of the Types of Armed Forces (DORSZ), which announced in the morning of the incidental that we were dealing with an "aggression act", of course Russian. Then we were observers of the comedy of “mistakes” and escalation of absurdities spoken by subsequent representatives of the Polish authorities – up to the apogee in the form of a mockery of Vice-President Marcin Bosacki at the UN safety Council.

Meanwhile – let us return to PR textbooks – the best regulation erstwhile you do not know what to say is silence. Any country that respects itself in a crisis situation shall apply conservative and precautionary tactics, informing citizens and the world's public that in due time the event will be duly explained by the investigative or expert bodies designated for it. After an analysis of the global response, it is decided to choose the appropriate narrative. In Poland, the other is the case: first 1 throws ideologically motivated nonsense, while being aware that a lie is about to come out. And then I'm going to cry that the idioticness of the propaganda apparatus of power does not take seriously not only nobody in the world, but besides own society.

Paraphrasing the classic, “the worse for society.” due to the fact that for COPIS, our society is “a random society”.
