PiS scores Trzaskowski: a dispute over the excavation of the Mierze and an election campaign

Law and Justice published a fresh electoral spot, in which it resembles the words of Rafał Trzaskowski from his visit to Elbląg. The material besides points to the political decisions of the Civic Platform on port improvement in that city. This is another installment of political rivalry between the 2 parties.

Digging the Vistula Measure: Trzaskowski praises the investment, but what did PO do?

A fewer weeks ago Rafał Trzaskowski visited Elbląg, where he referred to the importance of digging the Wiślana mine. The president of Warsaw admitted that the investment is crucial for the improvement of the port in Elbląg and should continue.

His words were recalled in the video:

– After all, the most crucial thing is that if it was to be dug, this waterway had to be led to the port of Elbląg. So that Elbląg can make and that this port, of course, fulfils its economical function – said the politician.

– It's not until now that we can do it. The government does it, the government cooperates. That's precisely how it should be. This allows Elbląg to become 1 of the major ports, tiny but crucial in the Baltic Sea – he emphasized.

The Lektor in the PiS spot, however, recalls that the Trzaskowski Party, the Citizen Platform, has halted key investments in Elbląg port. The material concludes with a strong slogan: “They tricked Poles again”.

Trzaskovsky's leave: The PiS reveals contradictions

This is not the first time the PiS has pointed to Rafał Trzaskowski's inconsistencies in his statements. At the beginning of the year, the organization published a spot, in which it compiled assurances from the president of Warsaw about taking leave during the election run with reality.

The case was examined by Karol Gac, a writer “To the Thing” who, as part of his access to public information, checked the nature of Trzaskowski's travel in Poland as part of an election pre-campaign. The results of his investigation revealed that the politician rode as part of a business delegation, not on leave as he claimed publicly.

In the PiS spot, the question is: “Which Rafal is real?”. The recording of Trzaskowski was then compiled, which during the press conference said:

– Ladies and gentlemen, I'm always on vacation erstwhile I run an election campaign. For many, many years, since 2018 this question has been asked, I have constantly answered: at the minute erstwhile I am, I conduct an election campaign, I am not in town hall, I am out of Warsaw, then I take a vacation and so it will be now.

The talker then stresses the contradictions:

"Despite many assurances, Rafał Trzaskowski was not on vacation during his November gathering with voters in Krakow. According to Warsaw City Hall, it turned out that Trzaskowski, erstwhile travelling in Poland, did not only during his work but besides as part of a business delegation.”

Political War on Spots

The last PiS material is another installment of political rivalry before the 2025 presidential election. The opposition counters the allegations, indicating that the ruling organization is looking for ways to discredit Trzaskovsky. Regardless of the interpretation, 1 thing is certain – the election run is gaining momentum and political spots become the main tool in the fight for voters.
