Law and Justice MPs appeared in front of the Border defender facility in Zgorzelec surrounded by respective twelve people from the Border defence Movement. Politicians argued that the government's thought of introducing border controls would not be an effective solution to migration.
MP Elżbieta Witek (PiS) presented an alternate proposal for her party. «We have (our) proposals. We have submitted a bill in the Sejm, which goes further than the temporary closure of the border, namely the (project) bill, which will temporarily limit the admission of foreigners from 3rd countries to Poland" - said Witek.
PiS proposes restrictions for migrants
According to the thought of PiS politicians, the Ministry of Interior and Administration should find which countries citizens would be banned. «The MSWIA has the best cognition of how many migrants we have here and from which mainly countries" - Witek argued.
Students and legally employed persons, among others, would be excluded from the planned restrictions. During the conference, Witek besides spoke about the request to strengthen the Border defender and recalled the referendum on migration that the erstwhile government had organised.
Charges against German Services
PiS MP Paweł Hreniak referred to the question of the transfer of Polish border guards by German services, which any media described. «The German side must prove to us where the illegal migrants came from. It cannot be that people who have no papers are turned around» - he said.
Hreniak added that specified people are “a small thoughtlessly accepted by the Polish side”. PiS politicians wanted information on the number of specified cases in the Gorzelecki Border defender Service, where they went with parliamentary control.
Series of border appearances
Mr Jacek Weather assured that the visit was not offensive to Border defender staff. “We came here to talk about current problems” - he said. These are also speeches by PiS politicians on the Lower Silesian section of the Polish-German border.

He demanded the resignation of police and border defender commanders and the introduction of shield shields for entrepreneurs conducting business along the Polish-German border.
Tusk responds to PiS attacks
Prime Minister Donald Tusk (Civil Coalition) in Wednesday's entry on platform X assessed the actions of the opposition. “The more the Polish state regains control at the borders, the more it is attacked by the PiS, the Confederacy and their militias” - wrote Tusk.
«They first allowed hundreds of thousands of migrants from Asia and Africa, earning on visas, and now they are trying to paralyze our Border Guard. We will not let this» - added the Prime Minister. On Wednesday, a draft regulation on the temporary reintroduction of border control was published on the pages of the Government Legislative Centre.
According to the Regulation, border control of persons will be restored from 7 July 2025 to 5 August 2025 on the state border with the national Republic of Germany and with the Republic of Lithuania.
