Lightning goes to Romania? Bucharest shopping

In fresh days the portal [Defense Romania](https://www.defenseromania.ro/cat-costa-programul-mistral-3-al-romaniei-mapn-vrea-sa-cupere-peste-200-de-sisteme-antiaeriene-manpad_634623.html) has learned that the Romanian Ministry of Defence (rum. Ministerul Apărării Naționale, MapN) intends to get portable anti-aircraft rocket kits **Mistral 3** produced by the French branch of MBDA. The word “portable” should be placed in quotes, due to the fact that unlike the Polish horn strategy [Piorun](https://defence24.pl/power-arms/spires-shooting-in-estonia-effective-100), the French rocket is fired from the launcher on a three-legged basis. The acquisition will include about 200 launchers and about 1,000 projectiles of the strategy **Mistral 3**. The funds for this transaction of EUR 626 million (excluding VAT) will come from the EU programme [EDIRPA](https://defence24.pl/defence policy/Polish-granted money-from-Union-to-technology upgrades). **Romania** is the 9th country to join the European [group purchase](https://defence24.pl/industrial/franchise-buy- anti-aircraft rockets-together-with-sociants) Mistral 3 sets.
