A much more severe consequence is forced return from the border. People who will not be able to identify themselves with valid identity card or passport will not be allowed in Poland or forced to return to the country from which they came.
Such a situation may ruin vacation plans, business trips, or household visits. For border residents who have become accustomed to free movement over the years, this is simply a immense obstacle in everyday life.
