For 4 days soldiers fought for medals of the 1st Open Polish Military Championship in Boxing. In the ringing in Suwałki, the best representations and masters in individual competition were selected. The winners of the tournament were its hosts – the 16th Mechanized Division. The second place was taken by the 18 DZ squad and the 3rd squad of territorial defence troops.
After a long break in playing military championships, competition for medals in boxing was restored. The organizers of the championship – 14 Suwałki Anti-tank Regiment and the General Staff of the Polish Army – chose the Sports and Recreation Centre in Suwałki to host the tournament. – The organization in the chamber hall attracted many fans. Final duels have given everyone quite a few excitement. For certain next year the next edition of the championship will be held and their host will be again OSiR in Suwałki – says kmdr Paweł Łępa, Head of the Physical Education and Sports Department of the General Staff of the Polish Army.
The hosts of the championship announced them as 1 of the most interesting sporting events this autumn in Suwałki. The culmination of the fistfight was the final gala, during which 14 duels were played: 4 in female categories (the 5th fight due to the injury of 1 of the contestants was not held) and 10 in male. In the women's rivalry of 2 titles won representatives of 16 DZ and WOTAnd 1 18-DZ boxer. In the finals involving men six gold medals were won by representatives of 18 DZ, 3 – squad of 16 DZ and 1 – squad Cyberspace defence Army Command.
Master titles among women won: in the category up to 50 kg – in the category Paulina Kasperska from 18 DZ, up to 55 kg – in the category Żaneta Cieśla (16 DZ), up to 60 kg – in the category Anna Sajnog (WOT), up to 65 kg – in the category Olivia Pawlak (WOT) and over 65 kg – in the category Olivia Gajevczyk (16 DZ). Silver medals, from the lightest to the heaviest category, were won by: the rank of Aneta Bobrowska (WOT), the rank of Patrycja Kuna (18 DZ), the rank of Jolanta Sienkiewicz (16 DZ), the rank of Karolina Zakrewska (16 DZ) and the rank of Monika Lis (Inspector of Armed Forces Support).
Masters of the Polish Army among men were: in the category up to 60 kg – wide Claudiusz Zwolak (18 DZ), up to 65 kg – wide Karol Poleszak (18 DZ), up to 70 kg – wide Daniel Dolowy (18 DZ), up to 75 kg – wide Adam Łopiało (16 DZ), up to 80 kg – wide Piotr Dziewulski (18 DZ), up to 85 kg – scope Michał Wiktorowski (16 DZ), up to 90 kg – scope Artur Górski (18 DZ), up to 95 kg – scale Hubert Łąkowski (18 DZ), up to 100 kg – plut. Mateusz Figiel (Command of the Cyberspace defence Army) and over 100 kg – plut. Robert Dochod (16 DZZ).
On the another hand, the final fights were lost and the silver medals, from the lightest to the heaviest category, won: Łukasz Barszczewski (16 DZ), Sergeant. Rafał Dawid (Capital of the Garrison Warsaw), Sgt. Michał Syrowatka (WOT), Lieutenant Filip Szpakowicz (Inspectorate of Armed Forces Support), Wgt. Stanisław Gibadło (11th Armour Cavalry Division), Wgt. peculiar Specialist Damian Janikowski (WOT), Wgt. peculiar Specialist Dominik Janikowski (WOT), Wgt. Maciej Suchwałko (16 DZ), Wgt. Konrad Kozina (11th Armour Cavalry Division) and Fr Marcin Brzeski (18 DZ).
