The first Turkish tank enters mass production

The Altay base tank will be produced in the first serial variant to which the name T1 was given. The cart counts about 65 tonnes in the basic configuration. It may be fitted with additional armour modules which increase the vehicle mass. The front of the hull, the front of the tower, its sides and the ceiling are protected by the composite armor developed by Roketsan. An active defence strategy of a hard-kill vehicle, called Akkor, was besides installed on the tower, which was designed and manufactured by Aselsan. The second is besides liable for the fire control and electrooptics system. The crew of the car are 4 soldiers: commander, gunman, cargo and driver.
