First female in charge of Prison Service

Prime Minister Donald Tusk, at the request of the Minister of Justice Adam Bodnar, appointed Colonel Renata Niziołek as manager of the General Prison Service on Monday, informed the Ministry of Justice. She's the first female in this position.

"We want for successes, determination in efficient management of formation and effectiveness in building best relations and cooperation in its structures" - said MS on the X platform.

At the end of April, the Prime Minister informed about the cancellation of the General manager of SW Colonel Andrzej Pecka. Before Pecka turned himself in to the head of the government in connection with the execution of a doctor in Krakow, who is suspected of being a Prison Service officer.

The head of MS quoted in the ministry's communication referring to the appointment of Renata Niziołek estimated that this was an highly crucial minute for the full formation. Renata Niziolek from 24 January 2024 served as Deputy manager General of SW. She has been associated with the Prison Service since 1995 erstwhile she began working as a scientist in the Penitentiary Department of the fresh Hut.

In 2003, she took up the position of head of this department; in 2009, she was appointed manager of the Investigation Arrest in Kraków-Podgórz. She held this post until the end of March 2018. In 2019 she was entrusted with the position of manager of the Penal Institution in Wadowice.
