President's first legislative initiative. "We request large investments"

Polish president Karol Nawrocki signed a legislative initiative concerning the draft "TAK for CPK". The president met with Kalisz residents on Thursday, where he spoke about the task of the Central Communication Port in a "traditional form". "He gave us hope that the flywheel of our economy, our economy, had appeared on the horizon," he said.

On Thursday during a gathering with residents in Kalisz, Karol Nawrocki signed his first legislative initiative - I'm sorry. "YAK for CPK".

"The CPK in its conventional form gave us hope that the flywheel of our economy, of our economy, appeared on the horizon (...). 35 years after the fall of communism we are trapped in a trap that we can overcome with large investments," said Karol Nawrocki after signing.

First legislative initiative by Karol Nawrocki

Karol Nawrocki stressed that he was demanding "return to sustainable development" for the full of Poland, not only Poland "Warsaw and large agglomerations". He said he wanted the task not to be harmful to smaller towns and villages. "In my proposal, I request unequivocally that we return to sustainable improvement and that the Central Communication Port should not be a wheel without spokes and be a wheel with all spokes. Kalisz must not be run over by a fast railway - said Karol Nawrocki.

The president pointed out that the CPK project, proposed by the current government, was subject to budget cutsHe doesn't agree to. He added that he treated the signed initiative as a motivation for the government.

- I'm sorry. The CPK task proposed and implemented in pain by the current government was first delimited and yet delayed. I see my function as president as the motivation of the government to work hard. My bill states that all the work should be completed by 2031, and 2032 should be the end of this task that we are all waiting for," said Karol Nawrocki.

Karol Nawrocki besides spoke about his legislative initiative during the Wednesday message before National Assembly.

- I'm sorry. We request large plans today, large investments. We request to awaken the aspirations of the Polish people, due to the fact that we can no longer be the auxiliary farm of our western neighbours or the full European Union - said the president on Wednesday.

The President's initiative refers to a civilian bill to oblige the current government to build Central Communication Port as defined by the Resolution of the Council of Ministers of 2023. According to this project, the key elements of the investment were to be committed in 2028, not as the current government predicted - in 2032.

The task besides assumes a different size of investment in access railway to CPK. According to the president, current plans exclude residents of smaller towns and let free communication to people from the largest cities. Karol Nawrocki besides opposes the budget cuts proposed by the current government.

Karol Nawrocki's promises and draft laws

Apart from the task "YAK for CPK" Karol Nawrocki announced a number of another laws that he would submit in the first weeks of office. The fresh president has pledged to legislate on:

  • PIT 0% for families with at least 2 children;
  • increase the second taxation threshold to PLN 140 1000 per year,
  • liquidation of the alleged Belka taxation (also up to PLN 140 1000 per year),
  • introducing household allowances for entrepreneurs,
  • reductions in the basic VAT rate from 23 to 22 percent,
  • guarantee the value of pensions.

These are not the President's only initiatives. Head of Karol Nawrocki's office - Zbigniew Bogucki he informed that draft laws on farmers and public media would besides be submitted in the coming days.
