During the beginning of the 1st National legislature “Science for Business” in Warsaw, Prime Minister Donald Tusk formulated guidelines for Polish policy for 2026, while stressing that it will be a year determining the safety and future of Poland. What the Prime Minister brings in is not known. possibly he experienced any mysterious illumination and a model of the clairvoyant Krzysztof Jackowski possessed his professional abilities. In any case, Donald Tusk presented 5 fundamental principles of Polish policy in the context of the landmark year 2026. Here they are:
1.no 1 who deals with politics can attack Polish services, Polish troops,
2. politicians cannot repeat Russian propaganda either,
3. the "political sabotage" of legislative action must be completed,
4. anyone who deals with politics, including abroad policy, must have no uncertainty that Poland is behind the West, behind the EU and not with Russia,
5. in the war between Russia and Ukraine Poland is on the side of Ukraine.
One could say, that's all and so much. Donald Tusk could not have presented his political intentions more clearly. They are very clear. The aim is to introduce arbitrary, not to say the autocratic way of conducting politics, in which what is good for Poland is best known by the Prime Minister and his home political formation. Any deviation from the imposed rules is both heresy and treason. According to a well-known rule – who is not with us, is against us. Let us so take a closer look at the Prime Minister's demands.
"No 1 who deals with politics can attack Polish services, the Polish army"
According to the Polish Constitution, Poland is simply a democratic legal state. This means that no body, no institution and no formation can function outside the democratic order and beyond the law. The surveillance of peculiar services and the army shall be exercised by the authorities designated for this purpose, and regardless of that, these formations shall be subject to the natural assessment of the public under democratic conditions. No 1 can prohibit their criticism if they do not fulfil their tasks or act unconstitutionally. It is not anyone another than Donald Tusk and Citizens' Platform politicians who have been harassing the actions of peculiar services for the regulation of law and justice. It was not anyone another than the Citizen Coalition MP Franciszek Sterczewski who blamed the military for actions not in accordance with procedures during the conflict on the Polish-Belarusian border. And it's not who was right at the time, it's the Prime Minister's inconsistency.
"Politicians cannot repeat Russian propaganda either"
Not only Russian, but no another – besides Ukrainian, German, Israeli or American. I am all the more amazed erstwhile Polish politicians not only repeat thesis, but besides implement guidelines of abroad distribution centres. Somehow, this does not come up with any noticeable objection.
"Policy sabotage" of legislative action must be completed
I do not know precisely what the "poet" meant, but if the Prime Minister was referring to the issue of vetoing laws by the president of the Republic of Poland, then he undermines the constitutional powers of the head of state. The veto law exists as a kind of safeguard against questionable decisions of the legislative authority. In this way, the president may argue laws that he considers to be wrongful, wrongful, or give emergence to legal doubts. Is Prime Minister Donald Tusk thus questioning the rule of 3 divisions of power, the essence of which is the pursuit of common control of authorities and the prevention of their excessive concentration? Or is the regulation "Ein Volk, ein Reich, ein Führer" better?
"Everyone who deals with politics, including abroad policy, must have no uncertainty that Poland is behind the West, behind the EU and not with Russia"
What does it mean to be behind the West or to be behind the EU? erstwhile I hear specified words, I remember the times of simple school, erstwhile any were behind LKS and others were behind Widzew. Politics is not a competition or a ranking of the popularity of sports teams. Politics is simply a prudent action for the common good. Regardless, there are no permanent friends and enemies in politics – the main criterion of decision-making is national interest or the right state. Poland's membership of the European Union is not a dogma or a permanent paradigm of Polish politics. Poland's accession to the EU had any advantages, but the sum of losses, damages and risks resulting from this decision powerfully outweighs the benefits. This makes us think about the sense of Poland's continued participation in the European Union and the debate on this issue.
“In the war between Russia and Ukraine Poland is on the side of Ukraine”
The Russian-Ukrainian War is not our war and speaking for 1 of the parties to this conflict is an act to the detriment of Poland. In a well understood Polish interest it is to end this conflict and stabilise the situation behind our east border. This is served by the peace proposals presented by US president Donald Trump. As for the alleged Russian threat, it is worth noting that we have no territorial or national disputes with the Russian Federation. Yes, we are in structures with different geopolitical interests than Russia, but the example of Hungary or Slovakia shows that a sensible and balanced abroad policy can be pursued in NATO and the European Union. By the way, it should be noted that there is no 1.5 million in our country. The Russians, and it's not for them, that the money is transferred from our budget. These funds are transferred elsewhere. Suffice to say that according to the President's Chancellery report, Poland's military support to Ukraine can be estimated at PLN 14 billion, the cost of maintaining war refugees at PLN 7.4 billion, and wellness care services at PLN 3.3 billion.
That's it. That's it.
