Andrzej Łomanowski: Rzeczpospolita: “Putin's summertime offensive fiasco”“The Russian summertime offensive ended with a fiasco – the army captured only 0.3 percent of Ukraine's territory without occupying any crucial locality. Losses were considered disastrous and the main goal – the mastery of the Slavic-Kramator agglomeration – was not achieved. In the Pokrov region, the Russians temporarily pierced the front, but the Ukrainians took most of the area. Both sides endure from deficiency of reserves, and Russia sends even air personnel to fight. The Kremlin suggests political concessions, but at the same time it gathers 100,000 soldiers, preparing for the bloody conflict of Donbas.”
