A certain investment in uncertain times

I am convinced that this is simply a very certain investment in very uncertain times," said Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska, vice-president of the Parliamentary Committee on National Defence, during the beginning ceremony of the fresh production hall in the “Łuknik” mill in Radom. The facility with a full usable area of 3513.53 m2 was created to increase production capacity.


The recently opened hall uses solutions to let further automation and robotization of production processes, while expanding the safety and comfort of workers. The fresh investment, with a cobatur of more than 21 1000 m3, was created in little than a year and cost over 31 million PLN gross. – The creation of a fresh hall is part of a larger improvement task of the production capacity of the Weapons mill and responds to modern marketplace needs. As of next year, the plant's production capacity will increase to more than 80,000 guns per year. This is our consequence to the increasing needs of the Ministry of National Defence, the Armed Forces of Poland and uniformed services," stressed Seweryn Figurski, president of the Board of the “Łuknik” Radom Weapons Factory.

The president besides noted that the investment was opened almost precisely 1 year after the first symbolic shovel. “We thus show that we can act quickly, responsibly and with a view to the future of the Polish arms industry,” Figurski added. Vice-President of the National Defence Commission Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska admitted that she was very happy to open a fresh production hall in Radom. – We are evidently very curious in having as much money as we gotta spend on our defences stay here in Poland. We are curious in keeping as many of them in Radom as possible," said the politician.

The fresh hall is equipped with a full package of safety systems, ranging from monitoring and access control, fire protection systems, to installations supporting workers' safety. – The precedence was to make a safe, modern and functional facility. We utilized reinforced concrete and prefabricated construction, designed flexible heating and cooling systems, as well as extended teletechnical infrastructure. The hall is prepared for dynamic development, both technological and production," said Daniel Wilk, associate of the board of the “Łucznik” weapon Factory.

The beginning of the fresh production hall was preceded by the laying of a time capsule in the ground, in which souvenirs were placed documenting the modern past of the plant. The event symbolically summed up the celebrations of the century of the Weapons Factory. – I wonder what will happen in the next 100 years erstwhile this capsule is pulled out. I hope that they will conclude that we have prepared so well for a possible conflict, that it was not worth attacking us and so we won this war before it started, which I warmly want everyone," said Joanna Kluzik-Rostkowska.

Jakub Święba, a associate of the board of the “Łucznik” weapon Factory, pointed out the beginning of the fresh facility in the year of the plant's centennial celebration. – In the complex capsule of time, we have placed objects symbolizing the past and the present of our company. The fresh hall is equipped with state-of-the-art digitally controlled equipment, ensuring that the mill achieves the largest production capacity in history. In this awesome way we open the second century of the plant's history," said Senorba.
