The European Parliament will hold a peculiar debate on solidarity with Poland on Thursday morning after Russian drones breached Polish airspace. The debate will begin at 8:30 p.m. on the last day of the four-day EP gathering in Strasbourg.
The initiative was initiated by Euro MPs Andrzej Halicki (PO) and Patryk Jaka (PiS), who submitted urgent requests for a debate on Wednesday. "At the request of the EPP and the ECR, the European Parliament changes the agenda of the plenary session and organises a peculiar debate on solidarity with Poland after the Russian drones deliberately breached the airspace" - informed the European People's organization on platform X.

Halicki told journalists that the debate would take place subject to the approval of another political groups. "I think that - erstwhile approaching the situation that took place at night and present - we should give the Polish Euro-Parliamentarians another chance to fight for the safety of the country" - he stressed.
How he stressed the importance of cross-party cooperation on this issue. "It doesn't substance which motion was first. Now the most crucial thing is the safety of Poland" - said Euro MP PiS.
Incident in Polish airspace
On the night of Tuesday for Wednesday, the Polish Operations Command of Armed Forces Types reported multiple violations of Polish airspace by drones during the Russian attack on Ukraine. In order to guarantee safety, the operational commander of the RFA has activated all essential procedures.
Deputy Prime Minister and head of MON Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz (PSL) reported that the threat drones were shot down. The incidental triggered an immediate reaction of Polish authorities and Euro MPs in Strasbourg.
