Our hero present was a man of all talents and commitment. He graduated from medical studies in Zurich, and after returning to his hometown of Warsaw in 1904, he and his wife Maria conducted independency and conspiracy within the Polish Socialist Party. Both were arrested and sentenced to exile from the Kingdom of Poland. In 1911 they returned and lived in Lublin on 14 Namestnikowska Street, which is present-day Narutowicza Street.

Dr. Jankowski became chief of surgery at the recently opened Children's Hospital. However, he not only helped as a doctor. She and her wife supported children and youths from the poorest families. Their home was always open to the needy. They promoted the scouting forming in Lublin.
