Parents, defend your children from sex!

Parents who do not want their children to participate in wellness education classes must remember that until 25 September a written resignation must be submitted to school. After that date, the kid will be automatically assigned to the class – regardless of the parents' beliefs.

From 1 September 2025 Polish schools will face a fresh educational challenge. Ministry of National Education introduces the subject “Health Education”, which will replace well-known and appreciated by many parents and specialists “Bringing up for household life”. Although officially optional, the program raises serious concerns about family, teaching and medical environments.

Disturbing content – education or indoctrination?

The fresh subject, according to MEN's assumptions, is to be holistic, including elements of physical, mental, sexual, social and environmental health. However, under this broad definition there are circumstantial provisions that origin concern. As we read on the initiative website – Teachers for Freedom, the program foresees, among another things, the affirmation of masturbation in children from the 4th grade of primary school, and in grades VII-VIII – the introduction of concepts specified as cisporcy and transgenderity, discussing sexual orientation and methods of contraception. The advanced school students, on the another hand, are to learn about abortion rules and the current legal position concerning LGBT+ people.

"This programme is simply a systemic depravity of children and young people", the experts alarmed. The Coalition for the Salvation of the Polish School and the medical community expressed their opposition in an open letter to Minister Barbara Nowacka. "The draft of the Regulations published on the website of the Government Legislative Centre The Minister of Education contains very harmful rules for the education, education and improvement of children and young people on the rule of permissive sexual education", says a message signed, among others, by doctors, nurses and pharmacists.

Parental vigilance – the foundation of parental freedom

Importantly, the subject “Health education“ It was originally to be compulsory. Only after a wave of criticism and social opposition, education minister Barbara Nowacka announced a change of decision. "Seeing tensions, I gotta defend the school from political unrest," she said in January. In February she explained that the decisive part was “talking to teachers”.

Regardless of the intention of the ministry, parents – as the first educators of their children – must be aware of what their children will be taught. The change of the programming basis is not only an organizational issue, but above all an axiological 1 – touching the deepest values that guide us in educating the young generation.

The household environment calls for: Let's not quit children without a fight!. Time to respond is not much – only to 25 September 2025. The parent may formally waive the participation of the kid in ‘health education’ classes.
