Bolivia has been going through the deepest political and economical crisis in 2 decades. The main trigger of the protests was the full abolition of fuel subsidies by the state. For the past 20 years, prices at petrol stations have been artificially frozen. Their abrupt release resulted in an increase in transport costs and prices in stores. The demonstrators request the resignation of president Rodrigo Paz Pereira. There are acts of violence, demolition of vehicles and clashes with law enforcement on the streets. The situation is aggravated by the fact that the country is polarized.
Polish MZS foresees that the situation in Bolivia may be exacerbated. The Ministry officially advises against tourism trips to that country, indicating a serious threat to the wellness and life of travellers.
