The Pope spoke by telephone to the president of Palestine

The Press Office of the Holy See reported a telephone conversation between Leon XIV and Mahmoud Abbas, president of Palestine. Its subject was "a worrying improvement of the mediate East conflict and the surviving conditions of the Palestinian people".

We print the message published by the Press Office of the Holy See:

"Today morning Holy Father Leon XIV received a call from JE Mr. Mahmoud Abbas, president of the State of Palestine, on the worrying directions for the improvement of the conflict in the mediate East and the condition of the Palestinian people. During the conversation, the Holy Father renewed the commitment of the Holy See to peace, which should be achieved through political and diplomatic dialogue, in full respect of global Law.
