President Trump has been promoting the thought of creating large multitasking ships since his first term. The subject was revived [in September 2025](https://defence24.pl/strong-armoured/trump-wancers-do-to-ma-sens) erstwhile the U.S. head of state mentioned the request to "return battleships", although it was unclear at the time whether it was entirely fresh units or, for example, resuscitation of Iowa ships.
