According to [Hartpoint](https://www.hartpunkt.de/rollout-des-ersten-campfpanzer-leopard-2-a8-fuer-die-bundeswehr/), the latest Leopard 2A8 is based on solutions developed for options 2A7HU and 2A7A1. Version 2A8 features reinforced hatches and a fragment of the tower ceiling. In this way, protection against artillery sub-ammunition has been increased. At the same time, Leoparda 2 in specified a configuration was deprived of the anticipation of crossing water obstacles by means of deep wading, i.e. in full immersion (up to 4-5 m).
