April 10, 2010

Although I was originally not expected to bring this up on my blog, due to the fact that I don't like it and only in the end do I address political topics here. And this is undoubtedly the plane crash Tu-154M in Smolensk. What the current ruling option has created around it, especially the promotion by 1 of its more prominent politicians of the explanation of assassination and 2 explosions makes me disgusted. The society was broken and the earlier plane crash in Mirosławek CASA C-295M, which happened on January 23, 2008, in which 20 people on board were killed, no 1 learned anything about following HEAD procedures. However, I would like to compose not straight about the disaster, but about what happened from Monday to Saturday in Krakowskie Przedmieście in front of the Presidential Palace. I remember this perfectly, although it has been precisely 10 years since these events.

April 11 we set a plan

Saturday was a large shock to everyone, and we already made any accessories for the right actions that day. Those who know me for many years know very well that I am active in a pro-defence organization of the firearm Union Social and Educational Organization, more specifically in "Sagittarius Unit 2010 Lublin".. On Sunday, we made lots of calls and texts. The decision was obvious, who could only go to Warsaw, decided to do so. At the request of the then Union authorities, we decided to support the already active gunmen and scouts.

12 April on the way to Warsaw

We had a train from Lublin to the capital at 4:45 pm, but most of those who decided to leave were already a good hr before the train left at the railway station. We didn't know what was coming. We didn't really know where we were gonna sleep. The only thing that was known was where we were expected to meet. This place was the Museum of the Polish Army, at the place we were about 20 o'clock – there we organized with the another shooters and waited for guidelines for us. These came rather rapidly and we entered the action under the Presidential Palace.

22.30 p.m.

I remember how today, on the spot, we appeared almost on time at 10:30. The first thing that impressed people was a crowd of people and a red-orange glow beating from thousands of candles brought by people who wanted to leave a trace even in the form of specified a tiny but very eloquent motion to commemorate those who tragically died under Smolensk. After a while in the dark there were besides large piles of flowers arranged by scouts, which came from what the inhabitants of Warsaw brought. On the spot, we rapidly reached a deal with the services, especially with the BOR (now the SOP). We have grasped what happened before entering the palace in front of the alleged “Lions” and they have focused on the interior of the palace and the courtyard itself. In the event of any trouble, we were in fast contact and could number on each another to support us in the event of unforeseen situations. This has worked well to the very end, and may the common trust be demonstrated even by making the rooms at the Presidential Palace next to the hall where the celebrated Round Table.

13 April – crucial task

Tuesday greeted us with beautiful sunny weather and almost cloudless sky, although nobody initially paid attention to it. The beginning of the day was a good accent especially for Michał the then commander of JS2010 Lublin, recognized 1 of the Bor-owiks. What's interesting is that they were together for our JS almost 20 years ago. That morning, a plane arrived at Okęta Airport with the body of Maria Kaczyńska. Our main task was to safe the sector at the “lves”, due to the fact that Krakowskie Przedmieście during the crossing of the column of cars in the courtyard of the Presidential Palace was already secured by the Military Gendarmeria. Thanks to the fact that I took photographs for Sagittarius in the meantime, it was besides possible to find it in a narrow group of photojournalists who were in the courtyard and made historical photographs before the Presidential Palace.

After a brief ceremony in the chapel, coffins were exhibited at public view. A queue rapidly formed to pay tribute to the presidential couple. Around 14 o'clock the first people entered the Palace and it was open day and night with short method breaks. The queue in front of the Presidential Palace did not decrease all the time. Often, the waiting time for entry was even respective hours. As gunmen, we were liable for bringing more groups into the Palace. The subject was addressed very rapidly by creating “gates” in Krakowskie Przedmieście. Halfway between the Sigmund Column she was first. Here we formed groups of about 150 people. Another 1 was at the lions, and here we divided it into about 50 people and led it straight to the entrance of the Palace

14 April – first remainder and another crucial task

All services in the vicinity of the Presidential Palace changed – BOR, army, police, city guard, even Boy Scouts changed. What about us? We haven't had a shift in over 36 hours. Yes, so much we were constantly on our feet, and this includes almost all Monday day, due to the fact that at the Presidential Palace we came around 10:30! Only on Wednesday around 16 am we were changed, “13” from AON and Academic Legia from Lublin. We had a minute of rest, truly a minute and already a fixed corner in the rooms of the bell tower of St. Anne's Academic Church, at the top of which was the viewing terrace. In the highest room, we have placed our command center. To rest, we could usage a level with a crimata thrown under us and a uniform and a fleece or a jacket. An hour, 2 sleeps even under specified utmost conditions were of large importance.

Already before 20 o'clock, all people from Krakowskie Przedmieście had to be moved outside so that they could pass a column of vehicles with coffins of employees of the President's Chancellery. As 1 of the fewer people I could then take pictures in the Hetman Hall. I don't remember any photographers in it, but for the authoritative 1 from the Presidential Palace. So, the pictures I took there have quite a few documentary value, especially since it was the shooters who brought the coffins with the bodies of the President's Chancellery employees and set them up in this room.

At that time I was impressed by the behaviour of erstwhile Prime Minister Kazimierz Marcinkiewicz and his then partner. He didn't act like you don't know who, like individual who's looking for peculiar treatment. He stood calmly in line to the Presidential Palace and waited for the chance to enter and symbolically say goodbye to the presidential couple. erstwhile he was in front of the courtyard at the tallness of the “lions” he lit the niche and passed it on to the Boy Scouts. The image below shows that he stopped for a long time in a situation where the full crowd slow moved towards the courtyard.

On that day, under the palace, students from the uniformed classes of School Band No. 3 in Puławy appeared to lay flowers at the Palace. They supported us until midnight with their presence, in the meantime Marek – 1 of the teachers who took care of them, arranged for them to arrive permanently. They left Warsaw virtually for a fewer hours to take the essential things from their homes and in the morning they were with us again and supported us to the very end, that is, until Saturday.

15 April – “PYLEK” action

In all this tragic situation and all-encompassing fatigue, I will give you 1 very humorous and optimistic story. In mid-March, a volcano marked its activity very powerfully in Iceland Eyjafjallajökull. He was constantly throwing out large amounts of dust. His behaviour with the aid of moving air masses has completely paralyzed the movement over all of Europe and northern Africa, and even on the east coast of North America. And that's where the poll action comes in. At the top of the bell tower there is simply a lookout terrace, and it was there that quite a few people were going to see it from above. The wandering masses of people caused large sound on the stairs, which did not let even a temporary reset, let alone a minute of sleep. I can't remember how it was "born" individual threw a password at the bottom about banning the tower due to besides much air pollination and the resulting hazard to the lungs. In this way, the comparative calm and quiet was rather quickly

In total, I will add another affirmative communicative very closely linked to the volcano mentioned above. Stopping flights caused quite a few trouble., but the airlines rapidly found a solution and passed on their on-board catering to volunteers who supported their actions what was happening throughout Krakowskie Przedmieście. In this way it turned out that throughout my stay in Warsaw I bought only 1 or 2 meals. The others were just these "food rations" provided by LOT in large boxes, solidly secured, and very diverse and truly tasty. From what I remember, this safety was truly solid and there were no shortages of companies that supported volunteers, and we distributed excesses among people in queues. Especially erstwhile it comes to water or candy or chocolate.

April 16 – Zombies

Friday was the day most of us rocked each other's last energy reserves. It was the 5th day of almost continuous service. The task monotony, due to the fact that there were only two. The first is to circular up people standing in line, divide them into smaller groups and conduct them straight at the doors of the Presidential Palace. We frequently acted here almost as in a trance conducting groups already without communicating with each other. Sometimes it happened that you realized after a while that you were already in a completely different place than you were a fewer minutes ago. The second – we received all these days from the coming to Krakowskie The suburb of candles, which were set in the sector in front of the monument of Prince Joseph Poniatowski and flowers, which were so many, that in the interior courtyard behind the mentioned monument there was a large carpet of respective 100 square meters – it was truly great.

That day, we knew that on Saturday everything would be over for us. The coffins with the bodies of the presidential couple will be taken to Krakow and buried there. Our service here will end. But the day had not yet passed and it had to be completed by helping those who appeared in Krakowskie Przedmieście.

April 17 – End of service

Since this morning, preparations have been underway to transport the coffins of the presidential couple to St. John's Archicatery. That's where the Mass was expected to be for the tragically dead in this disaster. The Krakowskie Przedmieście was secured by anti-terrorists, and HMMWV vehicles arrived at the gate of the courtyard of the Presidential Palace. In the meantime, representation troops of the services were set up to service as an honorary assistance along the way. The coffins of Lech Kaczyński and Maria Kaczyńska rested on tows – the president covered was the President's President's Proponent, the President's wife with a white-red flag. The conductor drove Krakowskie Przedmieście to Castle Square and then to St. John's Archaeology.

The next day everything ended with coffins on board CASA C-295M aircraft from the airport Okęcie flew to Krakow.

I remember and I'll remember for a long time

For us, it was the end, six days of hard service, a minimum amount of sleep, but besides many valuable experiences. Each of us has proven to be in a truly utmost situation that had no precedent in our modern history. Nobody forced us to do this, everyone made an individual decision to get into it. A large group of shooters operating in Warsaw then connected a circumstantial relationship, which frequently continues until today. It was especially crucial to me, due to the fact that it cemented a fewer of my relationships for good and we can always number on each other. Returning by train to Lublin, although we were very tired and we slow left it behind. There were more smiles on faces and another subjects. But what we experienced on the place changed us forever.

Everyone at the time thought that if it changed us, it would change everyone, everybody, and in the right direction. That's what it looked like at first. Especially after what I have been through for six days in Warsaw. There's quite a few things I've seen that I can't describe. But 1 thing I remember perfectly – on most faces there was always disbelief, something unimaginable has happened so far. Something that only brought everyone together for a while. due to the fact that after a while, it was brutally and unparadoxedly utilized for the violent political game that was fought by society. And an example of how much this game inactive plays was on April 10th at Marshal Józef Piłsudski's Square in Warsaw owning everything for himself, but besides breaking all the rules of behaviour that imposed on us the warnings associated with the coronavirus epidemic. They seem to be equal and equal, and society is simply perpetuated by what is served to it.

The Word of Those Who Were There With Me

This afternoon, at the time of this entry, I decided to talk to respective people who besides served there. I got a consequence very quickly. Surprisingly, our conversations, the beginning of which was a tragic disaster, brought back memories of almost tears, but with laughter. Yes!! I'm not fooling you. The fact is, you will read below about the fatigue that was almost pacifying, but besides about situations that could make everyone laughter and rise morale to the highest level in a fewer seconds. Below are the memories of those who were there with me.

Aneta

My memories? In the first place the deficiency of sleep, further the sea of people waiting, the next sea of snow, the next – flowers, which from an extended carpet turned into a crucial prism... Always cordial and circumstantial organizational support from the BOR. Cleaner sound on the streets before sunrise. Chronic fatigue. An accompanying sense of failure whose size is hard to grasp. A sense of work to be here now. Michael on the verge of fatigue, being under the care of physicians, is about to hand out candy in line for the palace. Fake news, as Wojtek mentioned, named by us Action Pollen, which allowed us to have a minute of peace of sleep. Confronting messages from tv about a good praying crowd, while verbal clashes and more are being met. Performing artists to calm the waiting... Reporters. Gates. Sectors. Standby

All of this took place, until common support in our shooting group, sharing a grin despite hard moments, a nudge to the side for temporary fatigue. It was a time erstwhile we exposed our cards, being with each another 24 hours a day, having strength and falling off it, being in a good and bad mood, in good and bad shape. That way, we can number on each another after 10 years. Thank you, JS 2010 Lublin, Colonel Emil Czaplinski, for being there together.

Arthur

I remember how today, it was Saturday, I was conducting tactics classes with my shooting team, in the depths of the Old Forest close Lublin. I received a call from Michael, the commander of the unit with information about the crash. At first there was shock, confusion, disbelief. I thought this was a joke. I checked the messages rapidly on the phone, everything turned out to be true. I gave my subordinates this tragic message and asked them to celebrate the disaster victims with a minute of silence. Then we went back to the fundraiser and finished class.

In the evening there was information about the journey to Warsaw. Without a doubt, I decided to go – I was in my elder year of college at the time. The next day we met at the train station and then we were on our way. Our journey has passed under mixed feelings. On the 1 hand, we were driven with enthusiasm, eager to help, engage and give something of ourselves under these exceptional circumstances. On the another hand, we didn't know what would happen to us. Being in the JS2010 ranks for respective years, we mostly trained ourselves, participated in weekly classes, went to shows, various patriotic celebrations. What we had to experience in Warsaw was a fresh thing for us. no of us truly knew, then on the train, what would be waiting for us and what we would find. Upon arrival in Warsaw, we went to the Museum of the Polish Army. While waiting for the decisions of our superiors, we had a minute to visit the available exhibits. At dinner we went close the museum to a tiny Chinese restaurant that was located under the Poniatowski Bridge where we could eat well and not expensively. After dinner, we reached the Presidential Palace, where we helped the shooters who were already there. After reaching the Palace, we put our belongings together in the Hall where the circular table stood.

My duties included, among others, the carrying out of watch before entering the Palace together with soldiers from the WP typical regiment, collecting and arranging flowers and candles in an area specially separated and unavailable for this purpose, supervising people waiting in line, which seemed to have no end. People waited for respective hours, giving birth to quite a few tensions and misunderstandings. It's been hard for a while. Tiredness, deficiency of sleep gave us a hard time, but the sense of being needed and helping us gave us additional energy and motivation to give even more of ourselves. I remember the enthusiasm of people, the sense of community, the feeling that everyone is there for 1 purpose. At the same time, the good, bad and comic memories return to me. I remember the smiles and gratitude of people I could aid in as simple a way as posing for a image with a bunch of flowers so they could put this image in their school cabinet. The surprise of the officers, erstwhile asked how much they paid us to stand at the Palace, I answered – that we do it free and voluntary. Fainting people in queues who needed help. The “Plent” action by telling the individual liable for letting tourists into the visual belief that this is dangerous due to volcanic ash. For me, it was besides the first time I had the chance to operate with another services on specified a scale. These and many another situations could be remembered endlessly with those I met and had the honor and pleasance to serve.

When we returned home after all the time we spent at the Palace, we were exhausted, but happy with the work we did. We could have done what we've been trained to do the full time we've been in The Shotgun. We helped people, we gained fresh experiences, we made fresh contacts. Looking back, I am glad that I had the chance to participate in this project, that I could aid another people and that I could prove myself. If I had to go back in time and face that choice again, I wouldn't have changed anything.

I remember how today's news of the Tu-154M plane crash. Saturday's graduation from Saturday's shooting class, that day as commander, I was conducting a drill class. fast return home, pack up the most needed things and leave. I didn't even think about what was waiting for me and how long I was leaving. Coming to Warsaw in front of the Presidential Palace a immense shock, a crowd of people, a hot heat beating from burning fires, the service was heavy, sometimes a different position. The full Krakowskie Przedmieście was filled with people. After 2 days, it occurred to me what a large deal of people came to say goodbye to the presidential couple. deficiency of sleep and adrenaline ruled out any tiredness. It all took quite a few support from gunmen from another units, scouts, police, city defender and BOR. The sea of people in Krakowskie Przedmieście showed utmost emotions. They were upset about long waiting in line for the Presidential Palace, and there were those who said no to the rosary, sometimes national songs were heard. There were moments of dead silence erstwhile no 1 spoke, and the words of Mazurek Dąbrowski gained peculiar significance.

While everyone was waiting for this minute of rest, reset, erecting our legs, we returned to the ministry due to the fact that it was our duty. After all, erstwhile it was time for reflection, everyone was tough, he didn't give up, he fought for his own with the shooters – we went to say goodbye to the presidential couple, pay our respects. I didn't anticipate what I was going to see, I wasn't thinking, I was walking, the sight frightened me. The hands trembled, a slight sweating, after leaving the Column Hall the heart and tears broke. From all that service, I just realized what truly happened there. Thanks to the support of colleagues, we returned home, but the return was a minute of disheartening, emotional, pleasant and uninteresting memories. However, each of us returned in silence, each of us brought the baggage of life experience.

Konrad

Not the shooter, the candidate, and from this perspective, I'll add a fewer words from myself. It was April 10, 2010, Saturday and last class before my shooting pledge. My squad led “Majdan” from the old forest to the dam at Zemborrzycki Dam in the course of this “walk” in the forests and meadows, my commander received a call with a message (unless from Wojtek) that “the bullock had fallen”, and then gave us this information. At the same minute in my head there were quite a few questions like whether individual survived or if everyone died and the situation was bothering me that nobody knew yet. After finishing classes, I returned home and watched our shooting forum and the full situation in our country. Since I was not yet a full associate of the “Shootshooter” and I taught at the method school, I could not go to support my colleagues in Warsaw, but I had permanent telephone contact with them. At the same time, the concept of going fresh forces to Warsaw was formulated in our individual forum.

On Friday evening, me and respective more shooters were already the place – we were the only 1 in the "civils" and in the defender of uniformed shooters I felt like a VIP. Our point of entry was at the monument of Mikołaj Copernicus, and from there we were received by “Kamel” the then commander of JS2010 and “Kura”. There was a short “part” and a ride to the tower – the bell tower at St Anne's Church. On the way, I saw quite a few people in queues, divided into groups and waiting to pay tribute to the presidential couple. After leaving their belongings in the bay, my friends were deployed to assignments, and I was intercepted by Wojtek and showed the situation from the lookout terrace on the tower. In fact, the line was already only from Zygmunt's column, not as before along the old fortifications of the defensive wall.

In the meantime, “Kamel” asked me if I was in the Presidential Palace and if I wanted to go, I said I wasn’t and I didn’t want to go. In the end we took a group of 4-5 Rifles plus 1 "civil" – that is. me and we walked in the mediate of Krakowskie Przedmieście, which was excluded from the movement for average citizens. Meanwhile, my great-aunt Kamil noticed me, and the another brother called and let me know where they were in line. I didn't find them in the waiting crowd. Then Michael told me that I couldn't go with them anymore and told me to line up. I did not hide I felt unusual and uncomfortable being among the people waiting for a immense amount of time and as later I heard the conversation of priests they had already waited 10 hours in line. At that time, I was at the tallness of the Presidential Palace, where my anticipation lasted about 30 minutes. Walking past the coffins of all disaster victim, looking at the sign with names accompanied me by a large emptiness, that so many people known from public life abruptly find themselves right next to me, but unfortunately already on the another side. In front of the presidential couple I cursed for a moment, then I was besides overwhelmed by philosophical reflection and erstwhile I left the palace I thought about the tragic past of our Nation.

I went back to the tower and I stayed in it. There was besides a concept of clothing me at Gore-Tex and getting me into the service tasks, but due to the deficiency of suitable shoes, this thought was abandoned. The next day was a solemn farewell to the Marshal Józef Piłsudski Square where I went, there were so many people that I could not get even at specified a distance to see anything from the center of the ceremony. On the way back to Central Station, as well as on the train, you could see the reflection, calmness, fatigue and fatigue. We were accompanied by talks on all kinds of topics, however, the dominant subject was to mention the full week of dense work performed by gunmen and another volunteers at the Presidential Palace after the plane's government crash, which flew at celebrations commemorating the execution of Polish officers in Katyń. Thank you for letting me be with you at the time.

Max

I remember what happened. I was 18 at the time, a advanced school student. Monday morning I went to school normally. On 1 of the breaks, the telephone rang. The commander informed me about the situation in Warsaw and besides that we needed our help. Immediately, my colleague Marcin and I went to the Vice Principal, who dismissed us from our next lessons. I went home, packed my backpack with sleeping bags, carimata, change underwear, and any canned clothes. I left a note on the table telling my parents where I was going and went to the bus stop. The full thing lasted possibly 40 minutes. another comrades waited at the station, we bought tickets and went to Warsaw by train.

We arrived in Warsaw on Monday evening. There we met with the then Chief of Staff, who informed us that we had to enter the action as shortly as possible and change the JS1313 colleagues who had served since Saturday. We found a sea below the Palace and crowds of people who wanted to honor the victims of the disaster. I remember the first night service well, together with the then commander of the Michael Unit, I had already participated in akin safety actions, so I was not so tired. However, any fatigue had to be seen on my face due to the fact that in the morning, 1 of the members of the Union's elder staff instructed me to immediately go eat something and send me to 1 of the close locations. It wasn't a high-class place, I was a small frightened to go in uniform, but hunger did its job. Turns out my fears were wrong. As shortly as I got there, 1 of my clients immediately invited me to sit next to him and instructed the bartender to make me a decent breakfast. He besides encouraged me with his words of encouragement that he thanked me very much for my service, that he respects very much what I do here. After eating breakfast, I went back to the service.

Overall, most of my ministry was overnight. I helped with the arrangement of flowers and candles (the inexpensive ones, from mediocre glass quality sometimes erupted from advanced temperatures, fortunately to my cognition nothing happened to anyone), as well as securing a queue of people wanting to worship the victims and enter into the memorial book. I'm most fond of another assignment. 1 night, I received an assignment that active helping the aged and the disabled to get to where the coffins with the bodies of the victims were exposed. This area was located on the floor. So I led these people down the corridor to the right elevator and drove them to the right floor. It was besides an chance to see for yourself places that others did not see – e.g. a chapel in the Presidential Palace. My service there was expected to last 2 hours, but the deficiency of people who could change me made me present all night. In the mediate of my shift, I got a cup of hot tea from the law firm. I besides got any chocolates from the older people I helped.

One of the events that I inactive frequently mention is simply a queue of people willing to enter a memorial book. From day one, we saw a line that seemed infinite. Last night our presence at the Palace, fresh units arrived to support us, so most of my companions received a free night. However, I had a lighter service last night so I stayed on this one. My occupation was to coordinate the order of people entering the book. About 1-2 A.M., I routinely told the young Shooter to let in another willing person. But he replied that there was no 1 left. It was a real shock to me. “Is this long line over?” I didn't believe it, but erstwhile I went outside to check, there truly was no 1 there. In view of the situation, the commanding officer directed us to remainder at night.

In general, I mention this time as a affirmative experience. It is simply a pity that the memory of those events, of the people active in this event, may prove so impermanent. The evidence that we were there at the time is just our memories, any pictures, and any school leave we got.

Michael

I found out about the crash in standard Saturday shooting class. I got a call from Mom who told me about it. Time stopped for a moment. Hundreds of thoughts – what happened, whether they are alive... I made a decision to halt the fundraiser immediately, and the Rifles were ordered to check our business forum respective times, due to the fact that fresh tasks could appear on it. erstwhile everything was clear, we received an order from the office to organize aid for scouts and gunmen who already started their service on Sunday in Warsaw's Krakowskie Przedmieście.

Coordination (making a list for departure, setting the time of departure, etc.) took place, among others, during my work at 1 of the Lublin McDonald’s restaurants. A fewer calls made, a fewer received, and everything was tied. There's nothing left but to apply for leave for the next week. It worked.

On the train, lively conversation, jokes, laughter. We didn't know what was waiting. After receiving the guidelines of the then Chief of Staff of the KG of our Union, we went (together with the shooters of another units) to the vicinity of the Presidential Palace. There, after gathering with the BOR commander, we received circumstantial tasks. Our work began Monday morning. Part of the Rifles was designated to work on picking up and setting them in the designated zone, while part was aimed at regulating rapidly increasing, along Royal Street towards Castle Square queues of people who wanted to pay their last tribute to the Presidential Para. With a good twist of fate, after 6-7 years, I met a colleague with whom I started my adventure In the Rifleman. We came to the recruit together, we had basic training together. I don't remember the reason, but he left JS2010 and we met only in 2010. I'm Sergeant ZS on Corporal Bor.

After 2 days on our feet, without sleep, any tired to the limits (young age, physical and intellectual unpreparedness) received a message – a reward for our service... the anticipation of a warm shower. The second part of the news, already little cheerful, was that we ourselves must scope the WP typical Regiment in Warsaw Okęcie. Of course, traveling in a city you don’t know was not 1 of the easiest. someway it worked out and I could, as the designated group commander, study to the superiors about arriving. Shower... that was what we needed. Everyone.

Washed, after a short rest, with “charged batteries”, we returned to our duties again in the designated positions. There was fatigue on the faces waiting in the crowd. At 1 point the atmosphere was so tense that an unpleasant situation occurred. A fewer 100 people group, reasoning that we were specially blocking their entrance to the Palace, tried to force them to enter another designated zone. They didn't aid the Rifles' request, and the cops weren't willing to help. As small experienced in specified work, we were not ready for specified a turn of events. The situation was eased by the Chief of Staff of the KG Marcin Waszczuk, who climbed a stone pot and initiated a joint prayer through a megaphone for the tragically deceased.

The service at the Presidential Palace proved that we were able to cooperate beyond divisions, we were able to communicate even though we were from different units and from different shooting relationships. Despite the fact that our union leaders were quarreling, we, average Riflemen, were under the Palace 1 united firearm Union.

Michael

I remember that day like it was yesterday. We received information about the crash from staff during a weekly fundraiser. Class was completed respective minutes later and each of us returned home. In the evening an entry appeared on the business forum, in which the list of Rifles who want to go to Warsaw was collected. As a young shooter (only 5 months after making a vow) without hesitation decided – I'm going. Consent from parents in hand, a brand-new pair of shoes on their feet and on Sundays after 15 already at the railway station in Lublin ready for the unknown. After we reached the Palace, we put our backpacks behind the lion and immediately got to work, which consisted of picking up flowers and candles from people. In a way, it was a occupation I did for more than half the time there. We put the candles in larger squares, and between them we made small alleys to make it easier to cross. all erstwhile in a while, there was a crack of warmed to red. all night, the staff of the clean-up service in the old town, shoveling the snow, cleaning the candles to make area for the new... The first, short vacation I had on chairs overlooking the celebrated circular table.

There were opportunities to do another things than choice up candles or flowers. Among another things, we created cordons with gunmen and uniforms, distributed water and bars to people in line, and another insignificant tasks. In retrospect, it was possibly not very difficult, but for a little than 17-year-old boy – it was a concrete job. By the way, these are the bars I gave distant – I divided the knife on the trunk of 1 of the cars earlier. I wouldn't want to see the look on the owner's face. I remember 1 evening, while I was handing out water to people, I was sent by the staff to a medical point due to fever (it was an excuse for me to yet sit on 4 letters and rest). The point consisted of 2 NS-ki tents. I politely walked in, sat for a fewer minutes, and went out through the back of the tent, so that after a while, I could share a cup of water with people standing in line. What a surprise it must have been among the staff erstwhile it turned out I wasn't there.

There will besides be a fewer unforgettable images with me - the view of the individual who conducts the prayer through the megaphone, people in huge, multi-hour queues to kneel in front of the coffins of the presidential couple, crying, fatigue, this atmosphere... 10 years ago, as a young, private shooter, I tried to aid during this tragedy. Today, as the commander of the Unit, together with our Rifles, we do the same thing again – we aid in Lublin as part of actions We call for reinforcements..
