The usage of artificial intelligence in gathering and processing information and database safety are areas where the defence department's technological partner will be American Palantir Technologies. On Monday, a letter of intent was signed on further cooperation. Executive agreements are to be concluded within 2-3 months.

– This is an extraordinary minute for the safety of the Polish state. 1 of the most crucial in the past of building the defence system," said Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz after signing a letter of intent about cooperation between the defence department and Palantir Technologies.
The American concern, 1 of the leaders of the data processing sector and the implementation of artificial intelligence-based solutions, is to supply IT solutions for the collection and processing of information and for the safety of databases owned by the Ministry for the usage of the MON and the Polish Army.
– The strategy adopted at the Ministry of Defence includes the improvement of artificial intelligence and the creation of Artificial Intelligence Implementation Center In Command of Cyberspace defence Component. The Centre needs solutions specified as those offered by Palantir – said the Deputy Prime Minister.
Cooperation with Palantir Technologies began in December 2024, after signing a cooperation agreement on cybersecurity of information technologies. According to the head of the MON today, work meetings, exercises and workshops were held in the ministry for the last year, where the proposals of the American company were analysed.

The military participated not only in the Cyberspace defence Component, but besides in the General and Operational Command of the RSZ or the Support Inspectorate, i.e. those institutions that manage a immense stream of data all day. The affirmative results of these pilot projects and the possible of Palantir technologies have led to the signing of today's letter of intent, which brings this cooperation to a higher level.
– To be the leader of NATO, it is not adequate to buy tanks, airplanes, helicopters and conventional military equipment, present the most crucial challenge for all the armies of the planet is to build information resources – said the head of the MON today. He added that databases are now the largest currency, more valuable than gold. “It is the top treasure of the modern world, and it is so essential to manage it well and to defend it properly,” Kosiniak-Kamish stressed.
