The EU migration pact creates controversy alternatively of solutions

The fresh migration pact of the European Union, which will apply from July 2026, will not solve the problem of illegal migration. As Ursula von der Leyen, Head of the EC, stressed during the September message on the state of the Union, the next budget of the European Union proposed to triple the funds for managing migration and protecting external borders. This is absolutely nowhere, we request an effective migration policy – emphasises Jadwiga Wiśniewska.

The EC chief announced a repeated effort to fight human smugglers. It assumes, among another things, cooperation with social platforms to block offers related to human smuggling operations, with airlines, especially in the case of problematic routes, specified as Belarus, tracking money flows and creating a fresh sanction strategy that will focus on smugglers and human traffickers.

– We must take seriously the return of those who have been denied asylum. It cannot be that only 20% of people who do not have the right to stay in Europe actually leave. The European Commission reports that although more than 400,000 non-residents receive an order to leave the country each year, only about 20% of them are deported. In most EU associate States and Norway, the Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration programmes are in place, i.e. assistance in voluntary return including reintegration support.

– Demography among illegal migrants is very high. The birth rate is many times higher than among indigenous Europeans – Jadwiga Wiśniewska says. – If we do not control this, if we do not halt it, we will have a Europe of Islam in 2 or 3 decades.
