Pakistan: 42 soldiers and policemen died

Forty-two soldiers and policemen and at least 54 militants have lost their lives since the beginning of the week in clashes in the Pakistani state of Balochistan in the south-west of the country – he reported on Wednesday in a tv message of Pakistan's army spokesperson General Ahmad Sharif Chaudhry.

The Ombudsman informed among others about the latest incident, resulting in 11 safety officers and 19 militants killed on Wednesday. The rebels ambushed 1 of the roads and attacked a passing vehicle with soldiers.

According to an army spokesman, the rebels besides killed 18 police officers detained. Police officers were kidnapped after a Tuesday attack at a station in Ziarat District, where 9 officers and 15 militants were killed at the scene.
