The police detained a 23-year-old girl who damaged the doors and windows in the church on Monday and at the rectory of 1 of the Oświęcim parishes – said the spokesperson for the local police as art. Małgorzata Jurecka. A man is facing 5 years in prison.
Jurecka said a man entered the parish on Easter Monday morning. He was aggressive. He damaged the front door and respective windows in the church buildings and the rectory.
Police officers who were alerted by the parish priest stopped a 23-year-old from Auschwitz. He had 2 proms of alcohol in his system.
– For harm to property is punishable by a conviction of up to 5 years. Unlawful trespassing on another's property is punishable by a year behind bars.
