As we have late reported on Temat.pl, a 28-point draft agreement to end the war in Ukraine was revealed. It was officially established in Washington, D.C., but Western media call it the "American-Russian" plan, as it mostly responds to Vladimir Putin's demands known for years. Among another things, we talk about the permanent removal of their lands from the Ukrainians and the deprivation of their chances of entering NATO.
Zelenski responds sharply to the U.S. peace plan. "One of the hardest moments in history"
The reaction of Volodymyr Zelenski did not take long. The president admitted that Ukraine had a choice to make. – Now is 1 of the hardest moments in our history. The force on Ukraine is now 1 of the hardest. Ukraine faced a very hard choice – either failure of dignity or hazard of losing a key partner. Or 28 points, or exceptionally hard winter, the hardest, and further risk. Life without freedom, without dignity, without justice – he said in a video recorded on the Telegram.
Despite all this, Zelenski emphasized that he would stand defender against the sovereignty and independency of Ukraine and rise its authority in the world: as he swore, on the day of swearing in. What's he planning next? Among others, negociate with the US.
We don't make loud statements. We'll work peacefully with the US and all partners. We will look constructively for solutions with our main partner. I will argue, I will convince, offer an alternative, but we will surely not give the enemy any reason to say that Ukraine does not want peace, that it is the Ukraine that is sabotaging the process and that Ukraine is not ready for diplomacy," he said.
However, it turns out that Trump is putting more and more stringent conditions. He gave me until Thursday. That day, he wants Ukraine to sign the framework of the peace agreement with Russia. Zelenski in turn says that he will act rapidly and, if necessary, work 24/7.
Finally, he mentioned that his goal was not to leave out 2 fundamental elements: the dignity and freedom of the Ukrainians and the end of the war, but not at the expense of the existence of a state, Europe or global peace.
