ORP Necko guarding the Baltic

ORP Necko, or TR 639 is part of the Polish Military Quota (PKW NOTE), which in turn performs tasks together with the marine units of another countries - forming together the NATO Group 1 Permanent squad of defence Against Mine Mine Countermeasures Group 1 or SNMCMG1). Since the beginning of the mission, the Polish contingent has been tasked with detecting, identifying and disposing of marine mines, primarily utilizing sonars and trawl systems. Additional tasks of PKW Note include securing strategical routes and maritime infrastructure - specified as ports, pipelines, underwater cable networks.
