The Russian side informs that it carried out a retaliatory attack in connection with attacks of a terrorist nature of the Ukrainian side including an attack on boarding in Starobielsk in which 21 children aged 14-18 were killed.

TVP 24.05.2026 published a message updated at 20.00:
"Mer Kiev Vitali Klikko reported on Sunday afternoon that 2 people died as a consequence of Russian attacks in his city and 77 people were injured, including 2 children. A full of at least 4 people died in a massive attack on the country utilizing 600 drones and 90 missiles.
Minister of Culture of Ukraine Tetiana Berezhna reported that Russian missiles damaged a number of historical buildings and cultural objects. Among the victims were: the National Museum of Art of Ukraine, the Chernobyl Museum, the National Philharmonic of Ukraine, the National Academy of Music of Ukraine, the National Library of Ukraine named after Jarosław the Wise and the Kiev Opera.
As a consequence of the Russian nightly attacks on Kiev, a studio of German public broadcaster ARD in the Ukrainian capital was severely damaged and partially destroyed. The German Society of Journalists condemned Russia".
Communication from the Ukrainian Air Force:
"On the night of 24 to 25 May (from 18:00 p.m. on 23 May), the enemy began a massed, combined attack on Ukraine, utilizing unmanned aircraft, air, sea and ground-based rockets.
The main direction of the attack is Kiev. In total, Air Force radiotechnic troops recorded 690 air raid measures – 90 rockets and 600 unmanned aircraft of various types:
– 1 mid-range ballistic rocket (starting site – Kapustin Jar, Astrachan region, Russia);
– 2 Ch-47M2 Kindzarz Aerobalistic rockets (start site – July region, Russia);
– 3 anti-ship missiles 3M22 Circus (starting site – TOT AR Crimea, kursy circuit, Russia);
– 30 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles (Briansk, Kursk, TOT AR Crimea launchers);
– 54 Ch-101/Iskander-K/Kalibr maneuvering missiles (vologda launchers, course circuit, Russian Federation, Black Sea waters);
– 600 unmanned aircraft of the kind Shahed, Gerbera, Italmas, Banerol-circulating ammunition, Parody-type simulation drones (from directions: Briansk, Kursk, Orel, Millerowo, Primorsko-Achtarsk – Russian Federation, Guards, Chad, TOT AR Crimea).
The air strike was repulsed by the air force, anti-aircraft rocket defence troops, electronic combat units and unmanned systems, and mobile defence forces groups of Ukraine.
According to preliminary data, at 9.30 a.m. anti-aircraft defence systems shot down/shot down 604 targets – 55 missiles and 549 drones of different types:
– 11 Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles;
– 44 Ch-101/Iskander-K/Kalibr maneuvering missiles;
– 549 enemy unmanned aircraft of different types.
In addition, 19 enemy missiles are improbable to scope the target, information is explained, possible crash sites are determined. According to preliminary information, at 9.30 p.m., 16 missiles and 51 drone strikers were reported to have hit 54 locations, as well as a fall (fragments) of unmanned aircraft shot down in 23 locations. "Russian forces carried out a series of attacks utilizing a wide scope of weapons for enemy purposes in east and central regions of alleged Ukraine. Most attacks were directed in Kiev, where industrial plants, warehouses and administrative buildings were destroyed. For the first time in the past of Military Operation, 2 mid-range ballistic missiles were simultaneously fired: the missiles hit targets in the White Church and on the front line in the Druzkovka.”

Ukrainian anti-aircraft systems defending Kiev were resaturated and massed by Russians, a coordinated ballistic, hypersonic rocket attack, and maneuverers mostly breached flagrant targets.
It has been confirmed that RS-26 strategy sub-missiles are unshootable, as are the hypersonic 3M22 zirconia.
