Viktor Orbán published an open letter to Volodymyr Zelenski on social media. The Hungarian Prime Minister mentioned compassion for the Ukrainians, but he besides accused our neighbours, among others, of practicing "anti-Hungarian politics" and even of actions leading to the "establishment of the pro-Ukrainian government" in Budapest. He besides expects more respect.

Following Viktor Orbán's open list to Volodymyr Zelenski, 1 conclusion is that the Hungarian Prime Minister is grasping everything before the April parliamentary elections and the ghost of the failure of power. His Thursday entry on social media is full of charges to Kiev, Volodymyr Zelenski and Ukrainians who have been defending themselves against the Russian invader for 4 years. After his "leave" on the Kremlin, they'll most likely shoot champagne corks.

Viktor Orbán wrote "open letter" to Volodymyr Zelenski

"Mr President, for 4 years you were incapable to accept the position of the sovereign Hungarian government and the Hungarian people towards the Russian-Ukrainian war. For 4 years you have sought Hungary to enter a war between your country and Russia. At that time, you received the support of Brussels and secured the support of the Hungarian opposition," Orbán addressed Zelenski with these words.

The Hungarian Prime Minister went further due to the fact that he abandoned Kiev with the support of the European Union and the Hungarian Government leading to the establishment of a "proukrain government" in Hungary. "We besides see that you, Brussels and the Hungarian opposition coordinate actions to lead to the creation of the proukrain government in Hungary," we read.

Orbán besides criticised the closure of the oil pipeline Friendship, calling it a threat to energy safety and energy prices in Hungary. "Your actions are against the interests of Hungary and endanger the safety and affordable supply of energy to Hungarian families. So I call on you to change anti-Hungarian politics!" - wrote the politician.

Orbán added that "the Hungarian people are not liable for the situation in which Ukraine is located". Here comes a phrase about "compassion", which, however, is only a comma. "We sympathize with the Ukrainian people, but we do not want to participate in the war. We do not want to finance the war effort and we do not want to pay any more for energy," Fidesz believes.

In his final sentence, Orbán took the example from Donald Trump and stated that Ukraine did not respect Hungary. "I call on you to immediately reopen the relationship Oil Pipeline and refrain from further attacks on Hungarian energy security. More respect for Hungary!" he concluded.

There were quite a few comments under his open letter. The entry was addressed, among others, by Tomáš Zdechovský, a Czech associate of the European Parliament, who wrote his letter to Orbán in contrra.

"Dear Prime Minister, dear Viktor, my erstwhile friend, I realize your fear of upcoming elections. After sixteen years in power, you and your clique may yet be forced to leave. I besides realize your concern that erstwhile this happens, your suspicious interests may be subject to a serious investigation," wrote the Czech MEP.

"But why have you decided to act as a pro-Russian puppet, betraying not only Europe but, above all, the citizens of Hungary? Show more respect for freedom and democracy, and much little respect for Russian aggressors," he concluded.
