One of Joseph Mackiewicz's crucial books was published under this title, written in months for our critical homeland, in which the future destiny of our country weighed.
This title reminded me a fewer days ago, erstwhile I watched a conversation with Dorothy Kania at the tv studio. A well-known writer was just talking about the threats that lay over Poland. She did not call for this publication, but she spoke just about what was late published in the White Raven publication entitled “The Attack on Poland”. She developed the subject of fresh EU treaties, after the implementation of which the Polish State will de facto cease to exist, about the truncated and frequently anti-Polish falsified past teaching program in Polish schools, about the impairment of Polish defence capabilities, resulting from the simplification of arms and ammunition orders, and after all there is simply a war going on abroad. In this tv discussion, the question, taken from the historical speech of Prime Minister Jan Olszewski, was: “Who will Poland be?”

That's what 1 of the tv viewers referred to, who connected to Trwam's studio by telephone. In a voice expressing a mixture of impatience, regret and pity, she stated that she was many years old (which most likely meant that she was very experienced and wise) and in a speech of outrage she said: “How can 1 ask specified questions that Poland will be?” At that point, her voice was mocked, and she almost shouted: “It is clear that Poland will be ours! For who, if not Poles?” Then those with unwavering calmness, though saddened listening to it in a tv studio, heard a number of allegations. specified that it is indecent to scare people so much that specified statements are a "nuclear" (this word in this oration has been written respective times) and that it is not fair to insinuate any evil will. “You share people, you divide the Polish nation, you divide society,” said the lady, “who is many years old.” She concluded with the emphasis on the message that "questions of a kind which will be Poland are indecent and very bad for Poland".
How well do I know specified an um... speech. I do not usage the word “think” or “look” here, due to the fact that even though they are spoken by people who frequently “have many years” they do not contain anything worthy of defining as fruit of reasoning or showing any view. due to the fact that it's not an idea, it's just a manifestation of the most common escape from the problem. This is simply a pompous speech of mentoring baboon for those who are able to reason (not just “reasoning” but “reasoning”) at Scarlett O’Hara level from the fresh “It Gone With the Wind”. This girl had 1 solution for all problem that came up, saying, "I'll think about it tomorrow." And so from day to day, from day to day... How many people do we all know who can only say, “Everything will be fine, everything will be fine...” No content, no reasoning including absolute zero, no effort to approach the analysis of the situation—any. But this attitude brings peace, intellectual comfort, good mood. Of course, until then. Until it's besides late for everything.
This is what Józef Mackiewicz wrote about. That individual has very bad plans for us. That individual is already preparing the form of our future fate. We live in 1 of the most dangerous places in the world. On both sides we have 2 countries in the full past of the planet the most aggressive, both perpetrators of the most monstrous of wars. respective times they have already erased us from the planet map. They killed us both not so long ago, until now no of them accounted for these crimes. On the contrary, both of these “hell neighbors” (the title of the book on them by prof. Kucharczyk) show their continued imperial ambitions. Meanwhile, the various ladies who "are many years old and know a lot" mentorly state that it is indecent to talk about these threats. due to the fact that it's people that can be disturbing, it can ruin their mood. And that's dirty.
Someone erstwhile imagined that an ostrich is simply a bird who, in the news of a threat, puts his head in the sand in the belief that if he ceases to see a threat – then this threat ceases to exist. Ornithologists verified the value of this communicative by stating that ostriches are not so stupid. On the contrary, erstwhile they see a threat, they either face it by fighting or, if it's truly big, they run quickly. The celebrated (through the coverage of tv broadcast from the helicopter) ostrich from the Washington White home as shortly as he realized it was to become a dish for Thanksgiving, he jumped over the barrier of the presidential residence. And then, driving through the streets of the capital, then on the roads of the territory of Columbia, he drove through fields of another state. A bird with a tiny head could respond to a threat. He did not say that he would "think about it tomorrow," due to the fact that he was smart adequate to presume that he might not live to see tomorrow. He did not tell himself that "everything would be fine, everything would be fine," but after a fast analysis of the situation – he went into logical action.
Some “who have lived long enough” would request as much oil in their heads as this ostrich has. “Optimism will not replace Poland for us”, Mackiewicz wrote. He was right, due to the fact that the optimism itself – he never solves anything. It's a helpful and sometimes deadly attitude. A sober analysis of the situation is worth infinitely more than optimism. First of all – seeing the dangers to prevent them in time. If individual has reason little than the celebrated Washington ostrich – do not talk on public matters. How is specified a sense – what should public demonstration of this disability serve?
