OPOLE | National Day of Memory of the Cursed Soldiers

On 1 March 2011, the National Day of Memory of the Cursed Soldiers was established, as a Polish state holiday, dedicated to the commemoration of anti-communist soldiers and the independency of the underground, and it is present that representatives of the “Polish Newspapers” Club in Opole celebrated the memory of the savagely murdered in September 1946 as a consequence of Operation UB and NKWD of the Soldiers of the guerrilla group Captain Henryk Flamego, ps. “Bartek”. The celebrations were held at “The Field of Death” in the forest close Stary Grodkowo, which was organized by the IPN Delegation in Opole and the association “Cryptonym T-IV”.

The ceremony was attended by Vice-President Krzysztof Szwagrzyk, a large group of young people from close schools, reconstruction groups and representatives of families murdered here Niepodległościów Underground Soldiers from Podbeskid.

The representatives of the Opolskie Klub “Gazeta Polska” thank you for participating in these ceremonies.
