Energy Minister Miłosz Motyka decided to keep the CHP fee at the current level

- We've eliminated transitional charge - she won't be from 2026..and after assessing marketplace factors, production costs and the energy marketplace situation, I decided to keep CHP fee at current level - PLN 3 per MWh. This is simply a solution that strikes a balance between the interests of energy consumers and the manufacturing sector - emphasised Minister of Energy Miłosz Motyka.

The Ministry notes that the rate is twice that set by the erstwhile government in 2024. In 2023, its amount was set at PLN 4,96/MWh, and for 2024 by Regulation of 20 October 2023 - on PLN 6.18/MWh.

Cogeneration fee. There's a minister's order.

Maintaining the rate of PLN 3 per MWh allows further supporting the improvement of CHP plantswhile retaining predictability of costs for recipients. This is part of the ministry’s burden-reducing activities on energy consumers.

Cogeneration fee is 1 of the financing elements of producers who produce electricity and heat in 1 process. It shall be determined on the basis of the costs of operating the support scheme.

The legal basis for its calculation is Article 64(4) of the Act of 14 December 2018 on the promotion of electricity from high-efficiency cogeneration (Journal of Laws of 2024 item 639).
