Opinion of the Advocate General of the Court of Justice of the European Union, who actually won? Banks, or borrowers, "viborators"?

On 11 September 2025, a pending opinion of the Advocate General (actually the Advocate General) of the Court concerning WIBOR was issued in Case C-471/24, where the suspect is PKO BP. Questions for a preliminary ruling in this case were asked by the territory Court in Czestochowa. Many felt that answers would be absolutely crucial to the “viborovich” case against banks. It is no wonder that, after the announcement of the opinion, each organization – both banks and consumers – outruns its media win.
