When it seemed that everything was going well, on the night of 6-7 April 1994, a plane carrying the presidents of Rwanda and Burundi was shot down. Juvénal Habyarimana was killed, and the Hutus blamed the Tutsis for his death. A massacre that lasted respective months began.
