On 5 December at 5:00 p.m., the sound of the sirens will sound everywhere in Poland, commemorating 2 police officers from Wrocław who lost their lives after a tragic incidental in which they fell victim to shots fired by Maximilian F. The police communication underlines the request to pay tribute to their memory.
The chief of police has announced that in this dynamic, dangerous world, sometimes it is worth stopping and celebrating the memory of those who have given their lives in their service. He calls for the sound of the sirens of our patrol cars to honor the memory of our friends who died in the course of their duties on 5 December at 5:00 p.m.
This initiative aims not only to honor the memory of these officers, but besides to unite the community in a motion of respect and support for police services. This event becomes a minute of reflection on the sacrifices made regular by those doing hard and dangerous work for society and the request to respect their devoted service.
Maximilian F. shot police officers
Police, who were shot by Maximilian F., died as a consequence of this incidental that took place on Friday night, about 10:42 pm, at 90 Sudecka Street in Wrocław. The event was observed by 1 of the random passersby who witnessed the tragedy. Shots were heard, followed by a man from a Hyundai branded car held in the street. Patrol Police from the local command in Krzyki received a call to the scene to analyse the situation related to the unmarked police car.
Inside the vehicle there were 2 Policewho carried a 44-year-old to put him in the detention area (PdOZ). This man was wanted for six months in prison. Maximilian F., aged 44, opened fire on officers, aiming at their heads.
The full event caused a large stir in the local community and among police services. This incidental not only caused a tragedy for families and close to lost officers, but besides caused deep sadness and concern in the community, which highlighted the safety and challenge of protecting public servants. The investigation of the incidental is inactive ongoing and the community is waiting for further information on the investigation and the action taken to prevent akin events in the future.
Police capture and fight for the lives of police officers
Two officers suffered severe gunshot injuries, and their condition was critical. In the information the police gave on Monday, it was unfortunately confirmed that they both died.
Suspected of shooting at police officers was captured on Saturday just after 9 a.m. on Canal Street, close Olympic Stadium. The full capture operation lasted respective hours, closing many streets. Officers were called to the service despite the scheduled day off, and cars were controlled leaving the area of Wrocław. The investigation and police action continued for many hours and the detainee was subject to further legal procedures.
It is worth mentioning the broad engagement of the police, whose efforts were seen not only in the capture of the suspect, but besides in securing the area and controlling vehicles leaving the city. This event caused the mobilisation of services and affected the regular lives of residents of Wrocław, who had to deal with traffic difficulties.
