Two hostile drones fell under Wrocław. They damaged the flood shaft and caused chaos. As a result, respective people went missing. Guards, police, territorials, and another services have taken action to find the missing and prevent the crisis. This was the script of the exercises, in which soldiers of the 16th Lower Silesian Territorial Defence Brigade took part last weekend.

Joint exercises of the services are the consequence of the initiative of the oławski officials and members of the MEVA Search and Rescue Group. In total, 130 service representatives, including police, fire departments, forest guards and soldiers from 16 Lower Silesian Territorial Defence Brigade. In the first part of the class, uniforms exchanged experiences, presented applied techniques and procedures. During the workshop, the Lower Silesian territories showed representatives of another services, among others, drone techniques and work with a service dog (K9).

– Exercises aim to strengthen cooperation between different services. We exchange information and cognition on procedures, search techniques, the usage of drones in action and the usage of the communication system,” explains Patryk Miszczak from the MEVA group. Then a simulated rescue and search action involving a service dog and drones and utilizing the TAK (Tacitcal Assault Kit) system, which allows GPS tracking of members of rescue teams, mapping and data exchange.

RECLAMA

For the purposes of the exercise, it was assumed that there were hostile hybrid actions that affected the municipality of Oława close Wrocław. Enemy drones hit the floodbanks on the Odra. There was damage, and at the same time, as a consequence of the panic of the drone attack, the people who participated in the outdoor events of the spring day fled.

They were missing, which is why the service had to take action. The search area covered respective twelve hectares of land between the rivers Odra and Oława. It was besides about uncovering drone wrecks and securing them. Territorials and representatives of another services went successively into the area divided into sectors. - We're leaving the spatula method. To date, it is utilized in search and rescue actions, but it is obsolete and is much better done by three-man teams, the so-called. fast threes – Miszczak says. He explains that in a large group of people walking with a spaller there is frequently a distraction during the march. That's why it's ineffective.

On the another hand, in the "fast three" system, which is used, among others, by GOPR rescuers and police, each individual from the squad is located at a maximum of 10 m from the companion. 1 of the squad members is simply a navigator who has a GPS receiver or a TAK telephone and he runs the full group. This is more effective and allows to keep the attention of the crew members.
The territorials utilized both drones and a service dog during the action. “Our German Shepherd, trained for search and rescue, is going with us in the field,” says St. Rafał (names are not revealed due to the nature of the service). He adds that soldiers set out to search for threes in designated sectors.

– In our case, and so territorial defence troops, specified 3 are most frequently composed of a navigator who makes certain that the group's march is located in a designated area, a dog guide who, along with the four-legged, seeks missing people and things, and a planner who coordinates the action and is liable for clearing and reporting from the search of the sector," explains the soldier. He adds that very crucial reinforcement of the search action were drones equipped with thermal imaging systems. – specified equipment allows to search the area from the air besides at night – he emphasizes.
The Oławski search action was successful. On the evening of March 21, we managed to find all the missing and remains of hostile drones that were decently secured. Local authorities from Oława are already announcing that specified exercises and workshops will be continued in the close future, but that in a more open expression – not only for service representatives, but besides for residents of the city.
