From Bank to Army: Gen. Ivan Tkachev head of FSB counterintelligence

Although formally this is simply a promotion – Tkachev advanced from lieutenant general to colonel general – in the analytical environment and FSB structures this change was interpreted as a mixed-important movement. On the 1 hand, it means taking the key strategical position during the war, on the another hand, the failure of direct control over the most influential economical structure of the FSB, i.e. the ‘K’ Department.
