EU finance ministers agreed on peculiar treatment of defence expenditure erstwhile calculating the excessive deficit and triggering the associated procedure - the Ministry of Finance informed. "It can so be said, according to the old saying, that the European Union, in any part, adopts the old rule of "border defence pays for nothing", as regards penalties and additional indirect costs associated with debt defence financing.
