The end of February is approaching faster than it might seem, and with it the deadlines for the implementation of crucial environmental obligations.
Check precisely what you request to do and what to be careful about to go through the reporting period without mistakes.
What, where and when?
At the end of February, 3 crucial obligations for entrepreneurs expire. To that day it shall be:
- report on emissions to the National Emissions Balance and Management Centre (KOBIZE),
- report on the usage of F-gases and SZWO to the Reporting Database (BDS),
- make an yearly fee for entry in the database of products and packaging and waste management (BDO).
On the last day of February, the deadline for payment of fees for the BDO registry besides expires
– The KOBIZE study deals with entities introducing gases and dust into the air, e.g. workshops with paintworks, welding stations or their own boiler room. The study to the BDS, on the another hand, concerns services serving refrigeration and air conditioning systems, where there are factors from F-gas or SZWO groups – recalls Wojciech Kopacz, the manager of the Bio Service project, a solution supporting workshops in waste management.
On the last day of February, there is besides a deadline for payment of the BDO registry fee (only for parts registered in the company database). In 2026, the rates changed the erstwhile year: PLN 200 for micro-entrepreneurs and PLN 800 for others. These are the amounts of both the registration fee and the yearly fee. These are due to the Decree of the Minister of Climate and Environment of 18 December 2024.
Watch what?
By the end of February, there were only 2 weeks left, so present it is worth giving in to these responsibilities. Entrepreneurs, if they haven't done it yet, can prepare these reports themselves. However, this takes quite a few time and can be associated – due to the thoroughness of the data required by the regulations – with nerve damage. – In KOBIZE reports for workshops, it may be problematic to separate energy and process emissions (e.g. paint mills, welding), sometimes the workshops usage inappropriate fuel emanation indicators or skip hours of operation of equipment. This makes the balance sheet reported at the end “not agreeable”. F-gases and SZWO reports to the BDS repeat errors in the records of filling defects, omitting recoveries and inconsistency of device numbers – says Wojciech Kopacz.
An acceptable solution is besides to order the preparation of both the KOBIZE study and the study to external BDS experts, e.g. through platforms specified as www.bio-service.pl. In this way, the workshop owner can recover a good fewer hours, which can spend on the improvement of the company and importantly reduce the hazard of adjustments resulting from insignificant omissions.
KOBIZE, F-Gazy... and what else?
In March, they must besides bear in head the submission of an yearly BDO study on waste generation and management. It shall be submitted only in electronic form in the BDO strategy until 15 March. Another work is to study on the usage of the environment, including emissions, water consumption or the introduction of sewage, which is the basis for the calculation of a possible environmental charge. The study must be forwarded together with proof of payment by Tuesday, March 31.
Each of these papers may be drawn up by an external expert to guarantee its accuracy, compliance with the current rules and consistency of data with another environmental reports. For the owner of the workshop, this means not only saving time, but besides reducing the hazard of corrections or calls from the offices.
