About the past of the Hajdamack movement – fresh position of the Volyn Foundation We remember

A fewer weeks ago, Volyn Foundation We remember the work of Polish ideologist Tadeusz Glosiński, led by Katarzyna Sokołowski, after 100 years, “Ukrainian Affairs”.

Katarzyna Sokołowska and the Volyn Foundation We remember “it does not fill pears in ash” and to surprise many rapidly gives another forgotten mandatory position for anyone who is profoundly curious in the roots of the Ukrainian case. This time, the Foundation released the first volume of unfortunately forgotten work "History of the Hajdamatic movements of the 18th century".

The author of the resumed book is Franciszek Rawita-Gawroński (1846-1930). A character known to the experts of the past of the ending, but mostly somewhat forgotten. Rawita-Gawronski dealt with the writer and history. He was bound by the secret national league, and later repeatedly his ways and views crossed by those national-democratic. He knew all 3 fathers of the Polish National Camp – Roman Dmowski, Jan Ludwik Popławski and Zygmunt Balicki.

The author dealt with a communicative that is active in the areas of today's Ukraine. According to Franciszek Rawita-Gawronski, Ukraine does not mean any ethnographic concept. He powerfully opposed replacing the conventional word "Rus" with "Ukraine". He thinks it's any kind of historical forgery. Historian Eugeniusz Koko wrote in a work published in 2006 "Franciszek Rawita-Gawroński towards Ukraine and its past: a survey of anarchism" that the FRG considered the word blitz "Rus-Ukraine", created by Mikhail Hruszewski (1866-1934) as a completely erroneous terminology. He referred to it as a certain chauvinist prank. He powerfully argued that it was a kind of "lycentia poetica against history, fact and logic, which had no another support than political reasons".

This work is crucial for historians, but it is besides an excellent material for all those who participate in discussions on the roots of present Ukraine. In my opinion, present there are 3 basic positions on the Ukrainian issue before the formation of the 20th-century Ukrainian integral nationalism (Szvinism), which must be read:

1) "Roman Dmowski on Russia and Ukraine", Polish thought Library, Warsaw 2022.
2) Tadeusz Gluziński "Ukrainian Case", Volyn Foundation We Remember, Warsaw 2026.
3) Francis Rawita-Gawroński "History of Hajdamack movements in the 18th century", Volyn Foundation We Remember, Warsaw 2026.

The book is the first volume of extended and illustrated work originally published by planet War I. I hope the second volume comes out this year. The book is read comfortably due to the fact that it is well prepared editorially. It has 260+16 pages. It can be ordered at the Volyn Foundation store. I highly urge it.
