The Apostolic Nuncio in Lebanon, Archbishop Paolo Borgia, returning from a humanitarian mission to the south of Lebanon, describes the situation in the capital, where within 10 minutes on Wednesday Israeli raids caused death and destruction: "The attacks of the same strength are predicted for 48 hours."
He talks about the request for truce and how the Pope's words are accepted, calling for dialog and the end of war.
Fr Archbishop Borgia tells us that there has never been specified an attack before. They say in 10 minutes there were 10 almost simultaneous strokes... Many Israeli military aircraft were used. Wednesday evening, the Red Cross counted nearly 87 dead and 722 wounded. These numbers will should be updated as many people may be under the rubble.
