Last study [SIPRI](https://www.sipri.org/media/press-release/2025/nuclear-risks-growth-new-arms-race-looms-new-sipri-yearbook-out-now) (Stockholm global Peace investigation Institute) clearly shows that most atomic weapons countries are continuously developing their capabilities in this area. The highest rate of improvement of atomic warhead stocks is preserved by China, which, according to SIPRI, increases their resources annually by about 100 heads. The 3 mentioned countries present hold almost 90% of the world's atomic weapons stocks (the study states that 9614 warheads were in military stocks for possible use, and about 2100 of them were kept in advanced operational readiness – ed.). Being aware of existing atomic weapons resources, the anticipation of investigating them remains a separate issue.
