Europe is inactive surviving the illusion of strategical autonomy, but in terms of safety it remains brutally dependent on Washington. Without an American atomic umbrella Old Continent does not have a real deterrent shield – French and British arsenals are not adequate for the Kremlin to take the threat fatally seriously. In a planet where strength matters, only American atomic weapons bring real respect to Moscow.
