Due to the current Equality March, the president of Gdańsk, Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, decided to decorate the city with rainbow flags, symbolizing the LGBT+ community. This is an expression of support for diversity, tolerance and equality, which are key values promoted by the city authorities.

The Equality March in Gdańsk is an yearly event aimed at drawing attention to LGBT+'s rights and problems. This year's edition attracted thousands of participants from all over Poland and abroad. Colored flags, banners and many accompanying events make an atmosphere full of joy and solidarity.

The Equality March traditionally has the support of the president of Gdańsk Aleksandra Dulkiewicz, president of Sopot Magdalena Czarzyńska-Jachim and Mieczysław Struk – Marshal of Pomeranian Voivodeship.

March of equality in Gdańsk – plan

March began at 4:00 p.m. at Okopowa Street in front of the Marshal's Office, from where the participants set off on the streets of the city to finish the march on the grounds of the Young Town.

The rainbow-shaped city is thus to be a symbol of unity and support for all who fight for equal rights. The Gdańsk authorities argue that diversity is the strength of the city, and acceptance and knowing are values worth cultivating.
