– We must contribute to the fact that Gdańsk cream from Mrs Dulkiewicz can have a good time – said Kacper Plażyński. The PiS MP thus referred to the increases for sewage and water planned by the municipal company Gdańsk Wodowierki. Before Christmas, activists from the group “We cluck”.
According to a post published on Facebook by the said group, the city authorities were reluctant to confirm their intention to introduce higher tariffs, but without giving details of the scale of the planned increases. However, unofficial sources talk of possible increases in water and sewage prices by up to 30 to 60 percent.
In questioning specified actions, “We Gdańszczanie” points to a deficiency of open communication by the authorities and a breach of the principles of democratic dialogue. They so request that the full content of the request for fresh tariffs be disclosed and that the planned increases be clearly defined.
In addition, the community pays attention to the financial gains of Gdańsk Waterworks and the advanced earnings of the board, which, in the light of the planned increases, seems to be a subject of further controversy. They point to PLN 1.5 million for this intent
About the case, the portal wujamszpile.pl informed in a separate article.

Position of Gdańsk Waterworks
The municipal company Gdańsk Wodowięci reacted to the “We gdanszczanie” initiative before Christmas.
The Gdańsk Waterworks submitted a tariff application 27.10.2023, as the erstwhile tariff covering 3 years was coming to an end. The application is simply a statutory work - it must be submitted 120 before the end of the fresh tariff - which we have besides done. The procedure in Polish Waters has not ended. Since 2021 economical conditions have changed importantly for both you and us as entrepreneurs. There has been a two-and-a-half increase in electricity prices and rates, the same increase in the prices of individual chemical materials essential for wastewater treatment and water treatment, an increase in the prices of consumables, an increase in the prices of abroad services on the market, an increase in fuel prices and yet a gigantic inflation.
– reads the commentary on the Facebook post.Importantly, the position of the Gdańsk Waterworks does not explain the increase in water prices in Gdańsk.
Nevertheless, we do everything we can to keep the highest quality of service and so it does. Only repairs of water-can networks and facilities, which we have in operation almost 200, consumed over PLN 37 million last year. The water-can strategy that we operate and to which we supply you with water and receive sewage is almost 1500 km of water supply network and over 1300 sewage. That's 10 shots of deep and surface water, that's 27 hydrophores and a force lift station, that's almost 150 sewage pumping stations and an East Cleaner, that's besides tanks and water pumping stations. It's a very complicated arrangement that is ready all day to supply services to our people.
