Sopot's resident was temporarily arrested in connection with the theft of a car owned by Prime Minister Donald Tusk's family. A 41-year-old tried to leave the country, but was stopped at the airport in Gdańsk.
Proc. Mariusz Duszyński, a spokesperson for the Gdańsk territory Attorney's Office, informed about the three-month detention for Łukasz W. – a resident of Sopot suspected of stealing Lexus belonging to the household of Prime Minister Donald Tusk.
The man was detained on Saturday morning at the airport in Gdańsk, just before the scheduled flight to Burgas, Bulgaria. According to the police, he was surprised, but he did not resist.
Luke W. heard 2 charges: burglary with burglary and the usage of false plates. The first charge does not cover only the vehicle itself, but besides the papers that were inside.
The man did not plead guilty and refused to answer. Luke W. is facing up to 10 years in prison.
