Association, not party
Mateusz Morawiecki announced the creation of a fresh association to attract voters disappointed with the current offer of the right side of the political scene. He stressed that the initiative should have a cross-party character and focus, among others, local governments, entrepreneurs and social activists who want to change power but do not intend to engage straight in organization activities. Its aim is to build a wide base for the alleged patriotic camp and scope the centre electorate.
This announcement caused tension in the PiS. any politicians began to fear a divided in the party, and according to media reports, its president Jarosław Kaczyński was expected to call the erstwhile Prime Minister for an interview. At the same time, commentators point out that there has been speculation for any time about the possible departure of Morawiecki from the Law and creation of his own group.
Michał Dworczyk, in turn, pointed out that Morawiecki inactive serves as Vice-President of the Law and Justice, remains active in the programme and takes further initiatives. As he pointed out, the fresh association is intended to aid scope undecided voters with centre-right views and is 1 of the many initiatives carried out within the party.
Dworczyk defends Morawiecki
Michał Dworczyk stressed that the Law and Justice were successful as a broad formation, which is why the initiative of Mateusz Morawiecki is to grow its offer with more centred postulates and attract fresh voters. He besides pointed out that Morawiecki does not plan to leave the party, and his task is only intended to increase the possibilities of reaching the electorate.
At the same time, tensions persist in the Law and Justice, as evidenced by the suspension of Krzysztof Szczucki, a close associate of the erstwhile Prime Minister. any commentators talk about marginalizing his environment, why Dworczyk denies, while criticizing the decision towards Szczucki.
A survey of SW investigation studio conducted for the Republic of Poland shows that if Mateusz Morawiecki decided to make his own party, 16.7% of the respondents would consider voting for it. The biggest support for the possible task would be among men, people aged 35–49 and residents of villages and major cities. At the same time, as education levels increase, the tendency to support it is decreasing. In the current dispersal of the political scene, specified a consequence would mean that the fresh group could become an crucial associate in political competition.
No consultation with the President
A politician from the surroundings of Jarosław Kaczyński told PAP that Mateusz Morawiecki did not consult the thought of association with the leadership of the Law and the initiative itself is to be contrary to the organization line and does not advance unity on the right.
According to this origin of Morawiecki's action, including criticism of any PiS politicians, is due to his willingness to mark his position after he was not designated as a candidate for Prime Minister — this function was entrusted to Przemysław Czarnk. The talker besides estimated that the erstwhile Prime Minister inactive had leadership ambitions, although he felt they were moving distant with expanding support for the party.
The parliamentarian pointed out that the last actions of Mateusz Morawiecki caused confusion not only among voters, but besides lower PiS activists.
