In 2 years, the Polish army will receive the first copies of the fresh model of multi-carrier Sanitary. On October 30, the Armed Forces Agency signed an agreement with AMZ-Kutno under which the company undertook to supply almost 250 vehicles built on the basis of Unimog U4000 Mercedes. The value of the contract initialled in the presence of the head of the MON is PLN 800 million.
For respective years the Polish Army has systematically modernised the logistical resources of medics in uniform. Even at the end of the last decade, the primary Sanitary Officers of the Polish Armed Forces were technically operated SCAM SM50 and Iveco 40E12WM vehicles and 40E13WM vehicles. Over the last 5 years, 2 fresh models of ambulances have been introduced to the service, which replaced the oldest SCAM and Iveco sanitary facilities. In October 2020, the Ministry of Defence ordered the Demarko firm from Świętochlovic 175 multi-car medical vehicles, to be built on the Iveco supply base equipped with a fixed 4x4 drive and a 132 kW engine.
Two years later, in 2022 the Military Centre for Pharmacy and Medical Technology in Celestinowo received a 71 million PLN transportation order to the army 80 single-car sanitary vehicles. The vehicles were to be built on the basis of Renault Master cars.
New Model
On October 30, the Armed Forces Agency signed another Sanitary Contract for military medics. This time, the military selection fell on AMZ-Kutno, which undertook to deliver almost 250 multi-carriers. For cars that will be built on the basis of Unimog U4000 Mercedes, the State Treasury will pay PLN 800 million.
– The agreement for about 250 sanitary facilities is not only an investment in the Polish Army, but besides the improvement of the local economy – stressed the Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz present at the ceremony of initialling the document. “Today’s agreement is besides part of the construction of medical troops,” added the Deputy Prime Minister.
Ambulances, the first of which are to enter military units in 2 years, will be able to transport 4 injured persons in a lying position or 3 in a sitting position and 2 in a lying position.
