High speed, good maneuverability, the ability to adapt to various missions – these are only a fewer advantages of the CB90 boat, which have late been equipped with Polish peculiar forces. Thanks to them, soldiers can be more active in activities concerning, inter alia, the protection of critical infrastructure in the Baltic. Swedish constructions are not only appreciated in Europe.

The CB90 Łódź has had many versions, which disagree mainly in equipment, destination (transport and landing, rescue, command, etc.) and level of protection. SAAB (producer) reports that more than 250 specified units operate in the world. CB90 is about 16 m long and 3.8 m wide. Powered by 2 900 hp engines, the boat reaches a maximum velocity of about 40 knots (74 km/h). The crew usually consists of 3 people, in addition to them there may be about 20 landing troops on board.

The main user of these landing boats is the Swedish Navy, but CB90 in various variants and modifications besides service in Norway, Greece, Mexico, USA, Malaysia, Peru. The CB90, provided by Sweden and Norway, is besides utilized by soldiers in Ukraine, which confirmed the effectiveness of specified boats in combat conditions. Between 2024 and 2025, the Swedish Navy ordered a full of 32 CB90HSM boats, a modernized version of CB90, besides known as CB90NG (Next Generation). It surpasses the older kind primarily with operational capabilities: it has improved combat and reflection systems, the ability to integrate modern remote-controlled weapons stations, better ballistic and anti-fracture protection (also the option of protection against CBRN, i.e. chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear), a more sophisticated drive expanding stableness and comfort at advanced speeds (maximum speed: 45 knots, or 83 km/h). At the same time, CB90HSM/NG retains the same basic dimensions and concept of fast impact boat as the first plan from the 1990s.
