The Pentagon is not going to spend billions on something that inactive doesn't work as it should. Lockheed Martin, maker of the most celebrated American fighter F-35, must face a serious challenge. Until the upgrade to Block 4, the acquisition of fresh copies by the US Air Force will be limited. And the stakes are advanced – both financially and strategically.
